🆕 Resources — Task Manager + WinDirStat in one page

A brand-new Resources section in the sidebar:

• Processes tab — every running process with live CPU %, memory and GPU % (measured the same way Task Manager does it), searchable and sortable, auto-refreshing every 5 seconds, and a one-click End task behind a confirmation dialog.
• Disk usage tab — pick a drive and drill into it WinDirStat-style: each folder shows its exact recursive size with the biggest space hogs highlighted in red, so you can see in seconds what's filling your PC — and delete what you don't need, safely.

Full-drive scans are powered by a junction-aware walker, so reparse points (like Users\All Users) are never double-counted and link cycles can't hang the scan.

🔒 Hardening

• End task refuses protected system processes (and the app itself) and re-verifies the process identity on the live PID before closing it.
• Disk deletion refuses drive roots, top-level Windows system folders, and the application's own install directory.
• Folder paths are strictly validated (no relative paths, UNC shares, dot segments, or NTFS alternate data streams) before they can reach a command.
• 25 new unit tests around these guards — 72 tests total, all green.

Download cryptoricoptimizer-0.0.7-setup.exe below — updating from v0.0.6 is a normal in-place upgrade.

⚠️ Coming from v0.0.5 or older? Uninstall the old version first (v0.0.6 changed the app identity).

🌐 DNS Manager improvements

• Honest errors: if DNS can't be applied (e.g. the app isn't elevated), you get a clear "Access denied — changing DNS requires running the application as Administrator" instead of a fake success.
• Only physical, connected adapters are touched — VMware/WSL virtual adapters are no longer listed.
• Custom DNS entries are validated before anything is applied.

🛠️ Fixes & polish

• Dropdowns inside utility cards are no longer clipped (Power Plan shows all options).
• Keyboard/assistive-tech friendly: dropdown options are focusable, startup switches have proper roles and labels.
• Installer and binaries renamed to cryptoricoptimizer (e.g. cryptoricoptimizer-0.0.6-setup.exe).
• App identity changed to com.cryptoric.optimizer.

1. Download cryptoricoptimizer-0.0.6-setup.exe below.
2. ⚠️ Uninstall v0.0.5 first — v0.0.6 uses a new app identity, so it will install alongside the old version otherwise.
3. Run the installer. Some actions (like applying DNS) will ask for administrator rights.

Cryptoric PC Optimizer v0.0.5 is out! 🚀

Here is what's new in this update:

• Added a full Memory Reduct clone: Real-time RAM tracking and a one-click button to trim standby lists and working sets.
• Smart Auto-Clean: You can now set the app to automatically trim your RAM whenever usage goes above a certain percentage (like 85%).
• Silent Startup: Enable "Start with Windows" in settings, and the app will boot up completely hidden in your system tray without popping up in your face.
• Always on Top: Added an option to pin the optimizer above all other windows.
• Desktop Notifications: The background cleaner now sends a native Windows notification whenever it finishes cleaning, showing exactly how much RAM and junk was freed.
• Import & Export Tweaks: You can now easily export your custom tweak settings to share with friends, or import a friend's setup!
• Cleaned up the Settings UI and fixed all the background tray minimizing bugs.
