First public release of TechArt Tools — a Blender 5.2+ extension for UV work, texel density and quick mesh QA.
Install
- Download
techart_tools.zipbelow. - Blender: Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions → Install from Disk → select the zip.
- Open the UV Editor or 3D Viewport, press N, look for the TechArt Tools tab.

What's included
UV tools — Rotate (±45/±90), Scale (x0.25/x0.5/x2/x4), Move UV (±1U/±1V), Align (V/H).
Checkers — Standard, Digital, Diagonal, Gradient checker textures with a visual picker, Texture Size simulation (128px–8K), and Render UV (bakes the current UV layout onto the object as a texture).
Material — Gloss / Matte / NM (test normal map) check materials, plus Reset.
UV Utilization — pixel-accurate coverage check (overlap-safe) with a preview thumbnail.
Texel Density — Get / Set / Check texel density (px/m) with in-range/stretched/compressed face coloring, plus Tiny Polygons and Tiny UV Shells detection with one-click select.
Checker (QA checklist) — 13-point object QA in the 3D Viewport: units, naming, pivot placement, hidden objects, backface culling, transforms, polygon topology, materials, UV bounds/utilization, UV map and material slot counts — with one-click Fix where it's safe to automate.
