JavaWeather App v1.1.0 - Celsius Release

I am excited to announce version 1.1.0 of the JavaWeather App! This release introduces the highly
requested Temperature Unit Toggle feature, allowing users to seamlessly switch between Fahrenheit and
Celsius with enhanced UI improvements. Below are the available files for download:

  • Windows
    • N/A
  • macOS
    • JavaWeather-1.1.0.dmg: Disk image for macOS on ARM64 architecture (Apple Silicon).
  • Linux
    • N/A

What's New in v1.1.0:

🌡️ Temperature Unit Toggle

  • Clickable Temperature Displays: Simply click on any temperature to toggle between Fahrenheit (°F)
    and Celsius (°C)
  • Independent Preferences: Each weather location maintains its own temperature unit preference
  • Persistent Settings: Temperature unit choices persist when switching between main view and 5-day
    forecast
  • Smart Reset: Clearing a location resets the temperature unit back to Fahrenheit (default)

🎨 Enhanced UI Design

  • Cohesive Color Scheme: New muted color palette for improved visual hierarchy
    • Muted Teal (#4A9B9B): Temperature buttons (clickable displays)
    • Dusty Rose (#9B6B6B): Clear buttons (location removal)
    • Forest Green (#6B8E6B): Navigation and add location buttons
  • Improved User Experience: Better visual distinction between different button types

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed FXML version compatibility warnings (updated from JavaFX 24.0.1 to 21.0.5)
  • Resolved temperature unit persistence issues when clearing and re-adding locations
  • Enhanced temperature conversion accuracy with proper Kelvin→Fahrenheit/Celsius calculations
