Additions:

  • Added more debug UI elements.
  • Added support for saving/checking variables in the GameInstance from scripts.
  • Added support for saving/checking variables in the GameState from scripts.
  • Added support for saving/checking variables in the Ship class from scripts.
  • Added support for saving/checking variables in the Planet class from scripts.
  • Added support for saving/checking variables in the StarSystem class from scripts.
  • Added support for different factions, and UI to select which faction you want to spawn ships for.
  • Added support for different "game modes" (i.e. a mode for spawning ships, a mode for making ships follow your mouse pointer to test navigation/pathfinding/turning)
  • Added mechanics for transitioning between game modes within scripts using the aforementioned GameInstance variable checking.
  • Expanded the Ship class and the StarSystem class and their scripting APIs.
  • Added a ScriptableSelectBox UI component (to enable drop-down windows and scripting support for them).
  • Added support for GDX AI state machines (as well as support for making scriptable state machines).
  • Added scripting API and support for ships from different factions to chase and shoot at each other.
  • Added mount-points for weapons to ship classes.
  • Added turrets to mount-points.
  • Added bullet mechanics.
  • Added shooting mechanics to allow ships to fire bullets at each other.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed bugs when ships get close to each other but don't get flagged as having reached their targets.
  • Fixed bug where an anonymous callback instance was being passed as the UI widget variable to Lua callbacks.
  • Fixed bugs where ships weren't getting correctly assigned to factions, and as a result weren't able to detect other ships of rival factions.
  • Fixed bug where ships would continue moving when you change from one debug game mode to another (i.e. if you change from move mode to spawn mode to add more ships, the ships that had paused (because they were close enough to their destination to be considered "there") would start moving towards the absolute position of their destination again until you switched back, because the logic stopping the ship from moving was only being checked when the game mode was set to "move".
