What's New in v3.0.0
Smart Device Selection
Device name dropdown in the send_command service — select your device by name instead of entering raw device IDs
Device list is automatically populated from your SwitchBot account on startup
Refresh device list button on the device page to update the cache on demand
Auto-detected Command Parameters
command_type is automatically set to command for physical devices or customize for IR "Others" remotes
parameter defaults to default for simple commands — leave it blank for turnOn, turnOff, lock, unlock, etc.
Comprehensive command map covers all 50+ SwitchBot device types from the API v1.1 spec
API Status Monitoring
New API status sensor replaces the old "ready" state with real credential validation: connected, authentication_failed, or connection_error
Validates credentials against the SwitchBot API every 10 minutes
Auth headers are still available in the sensor's attributes for backward compatibility
Credential Management
Reconfigure flow — update your token and secret without removing the integration (three-dot menu → Reconfigure)
Integration validates new credentials before accepting them
Improved Options Flow
Configure dialog now shows devices grouped by Physical and Infrared with names, types, and IDs
Cleaner formatting with markdown
Migration from REST Commands
All functionality previously requiring rest_command + auth header templates is now available directly through switchbot_api.send_command
Auth headers are generated fresh for each API call — no more 55-second timer dependency for commands
Other
Automatic cleanup of deprecated entity registry entries from older versions
Version bump to 3.0.0
