Release list
Pace 0.1.0
- First release: a typing speed test with 15, 30, 60 and 120-second tests, 10 to 100-word tests, numbers, punctuation, quotes, code and your own text, in ten word lists.
- Results with WPM, raw WPM, accuracy, consistency, CPM, KPH, typos and uncorrected errors, a chart of every second, a per-second table and your weak keys and fingers.
- History with a progress chart, filters, sixteen layouts, export, import and a day streak — about 40 bytes per test.
- Eleven touch-typing lessons with stars, a weak-key drill and an AI coach that writes practice text.
- New ways to test: zen (no clock, no end — Shift + Enter when done), a daily challenge (the same 60 seconds for everyone, with its own streak), Expert and Master (a wrong word or a wrong letter ends the test), and a pacer caret at a speed you pick — or your own ghost at the speed of your best.
- Forty-four badges with medals that draw themselves, a practice calendar of the last six months in History, and a speed mascot on every result, from a snail to a comet.
- Five games: Slice (type the word on the fruit), Tic Tac Type (race a fox for each square), Word Rain (catch falling words before they land), Pace Race (drive past three rival cars) and Bubble Pop (pop letters or words before they float away).
- Nine accent colours, six moving backdrops (aurora, drifting keys, stars, waves, grid, plain) and fourteen key sounds, from thocky and clicky to piano, raindrops and glass.
- Share cards, certificates, a leaderboard, 297 sounds that each draw one of 149 little pictures, a start-up animation and light, dark and automatic themes.
- On the web (it works offline once visited), macOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Android, iPhone and iPad, and as a Chrome and Firefox extension.
- Any text can become your next test: share it to Pace on Android, open a text file with Pace on a computer or iPhone, use Services → Type this in Pace on a Mac, or pick “Type this in Pace” on any web page with the extension.
- A store: Pace Pro for a week, monthly or yearly (renewing, cancel any time), one year or for life; hearts that continue Word Rain and Bubble Pop after the last life (three free every day); Pace Coins; and nineteen extras — caret trails, celebrations, key sounds, backdrops, gold race car, gem bubbles, a crowned mascot and a gold results frame. Pay with UPI, cards or netbanking on Razorpay.
- Earn Pace Coins by practising: the daily challenge, finished tests, personal bests, streaks, badges and game rounds (up to 150 a day).
- One account for every app: sign in with an emailed code or a password, then see plans, orders, codes (gift one to a friend), computers and sessions, profile, security, activity, more apps and help — all in the app.
- 27 layouts across History, Badges, Games, Lessons and Settings, each with its own little sound.
- Colour everywhere: numbers, units, keys, brackets and code tinted in every page and tab, with no pink.
- Small: the desktop app is about 3.5 MB (about 2.3 MB on an Apple-silicon Mac), the Android app about 240 KB, the extension about 210 KB.
