STR v1.0.1

Built from commit: 46f3f205bb6b852fb66349d8f8fe734ca09570aa
Workflow run: https://github.com/JRpersonal/streborn/actions/runs/37165646993

What's changed in v1.0.1

New features

  • A link in the app and on the phone remote to vote on what comes next (app)
  • A preset saved with Spotify shows the account's name, never its id (app)
  • The setup list folds away the speakers that are already done (app)
  • The start volume is a mark on the volume bar, not a second slider (app)
  • The start-volume mark carries a symbol, and the switch carries the same one (app)

Fixes

  • A radio title change that shows the same text on the display no longer interrupts the sound (agent)
  • A speaker no longer runs low on memory when the app first connects after a restart (agent)
  • A stereo pair formed again keeps its name in Spotify and on the phone remote (app)
  • One input lights up on a speaker with three of them, not all three (app)
  • The "Remove leftovers" button in the warning banner now removes them (app)
  • The music library offers the preset keys of the speaker you picked (app)
  • The speaker-display title switch says "unknown" instead of a false "Off" when the speaker does not answer (app)
  • The start-volume mark appears at 20, not under the handle (app)
  • The track progress bar gets its length, and the setup probe its answer (app)
  • The update button stays even when a file in the folder looks newer (app)
  • Three chevrons stop printing stray characters at people (app)
  • Songs from a music-library folder show their artist in Recently played (library)
  • Recently played on the phone hides the Spotify account id, plays Spotify cards, and Now playing names the song (phone)
  • A Spotify account identity no longer leaves the machine in clear (privacy)
  • The Spotify account id leaves the screen, and the test that carried a real one (privacy)

System requirements

Windows Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The app uses Microsoft Edge WebView2; Windows 7 and 8 are not supported.
macOS macOS 12 Monterey or newer.
Linux 64-bit (x86_64) with WebKitGTK (webkit2gtk 4.x) on a current glibc-based distribution.
Speaker Bose SoundTouch 10, 20, 30 or Portable on the final Bose firmware (27.0.6).

Verify your download

Every binary in this release is attested by GitHub's build provenance system.

# SHA256 checksum
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS

# Sigstore attestation (requires GitHub CLI)

Code signing

Windows: signed with a Certum Open Source code signing certificate. SmartScreen may still warn while the signature builds download reputation.

macOS: signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple. The app and the disk image each carry a stapled ticket, so Gatekeeper opens them without a warning, offline included.

Any warning you do see, and the exact click path past it, is documented on the website Verify page.

VirusTotal scan

Each binary in this release is uploaded to VirusTotal on build, so the unsigned apps' heuristic false-positives are checkable. Live reports for this exact build:
