@triblondon runs meetups/is involved in communities in London and Japan (sorry I don't know where in Japan) and is willing to help us here if we can connect some additional standards folks to start chapters efforts there.

I live in London, so I can help.

Is there any specific action I can perform at this stage to keep the ball rolling?

@AurelioDeRosa just get with @triblondon to coord with the meetup for now. I'm going to post something after our next meetup here in pitts on the 10th about what we're doing and how it's working, it'd be nice if others did for early meetups as well after a few so we can get better at it through others experience. I think a good first thing is to go an give a talk about the effort once you've established a meetup to work with and see if you can get people interested in coming to those future meetups in particular.

discussed in boston with @torgo - maybe he or @triblondon can help move this?

I'm fairly nomadic at the moment so organising something regular in the same place is a challenge, unfortunately. I am still a chair of London Web Performance which meets monthly so that could be a vehicle if Perry (co-chair) is interested.
