@JVarhol JVarhol released this 07 Oct 03:28

This is a Midweek update to fix some issues users were having

Calendar
Fixed Issues around auto height and auto sizing issues. Visual card UI allows up to 12 wide in columns and 8 tall in rows. Any further and you will have to use YAML.
Added an option to hide more of the top bar settings. This will be a way to hide the entire top bar soon.
Added a new view for week - Agenda. Agenda view is a cut down view that will gain some more features in the next release.
Moved developer options to a new menu in settings, this is where you can now find the upgraded debug and backup button as well as the new new developer option ‘Discreet mode’ Hides names, and event names in the calendar so you can more easily share screenshots without exposing your info!

Meals
Fixed a bug with the recipe viewer when you are looking at recipes imported into Grocy
Added a more robust UI to the recipe viewer, edit recipes, add titles, pictures, dividers and more.
UI Updates include ability to check off ingredients and/or instructions. A much welcome feature for me 😀
Changed max meal cards to 6 (This will probably become a user settable amount in the next update) and added a better way to customize meals day to day. Use the FAB to add meal blocks to days, recur on X day, or only add for specific days.
Added a Cooked by field to meals that adds a thin color bar to the meal card showing whos cooking!

Github Updates
Working on documentation still on the site dedicated to it. Now hosted at: https://jvarhol.github.io/HA-Family-Hub Documentation will continue to improve over time

This is a big update. We found and fixed a lot of bugs, added a really cool holiday theming option, added privacy mode, backups, more functionality and more. One of my favorite updates to date.

Reminders
Users can now have multiple todo reminder lists. Set a primary list and that is what new reminders are added to.

Calendar
Reminders and Calendars now support todo lists, choose an existing list or create a list that only exists on the calendar or the reminder.
Floating + Button was being drawn at a Z height higher than settings, fixed this so add button is never over settings modal.
Now the Daily Digest can be accessed from the more menu on the calendar card. Pulls that users digest.
Added a Single Day view and turned the current view to a drop down instead of individual buttons
Top Bar settings no longer have ‘Small Screen Mode’ you can choose between Normal and Compact (The old small screen mode). Dashboard set to small screen mode will automatically grab the compact mode.
New Holiday Backgrounds, set a whole card backgrounds for holidays and choose if they display day of week of or month of, tie breaker for if two holidays overlap.
New display settings for the days on the calendar, previously had 3,5,7 days and a portrait mode that displayed 2 rows. Users can now set how many days they want to see and how many rows to show them in to make their calendar fit any screen size.
New Show current day first setting. Shows the current day in the left most day spot instead of the classic week view.
New Privacy mode. Find in more settings or as an entity switch of the family hub card. When enabled privacy mode hides all events, perfect for hiding sensitive information to guests or visitors in the house. Does not hide meal plan. Tap the screen to unlock people with the permission can enter their kiosk pin to turn it off, can also be automated using its switch entity if youd like to tie it to times of the day, an actual button etc etc.0
Screensaver
(BETA) Allow to add cards to the screen saver, any love lace card can be displayed on top of the screen saver including cameras, sensors, weather and more. The editor for this will get better over time.

Meals
Hearts did not save to meals, now clicking a heart autosaves it.
Issue existed where menu todo list was being removed, fixed and added a new area to check what todo list is being used under the menu block tab in the settings.

Other:
Fixed permissions not being able to be checked.
Made the debug menu more robust
Added automatic backups. Rare issue found causing user data to be wiped, backups should make this easily restorable while working through that bug.

Devices:
All devices can set up their own display configuration now there is a tab in the settings to be able to see that and change all devices from the settings. These settings are now entities of the family card hub that allow automations to change the settings. Maybe automate a week view of 7 days and then only show the 2 days of weekends for saturday and sunday. Looking forward to seeing how this is used.

Users:
New Kiosk user mode for kiosk users has more settings and permissions specifically built around a shared device idea.

This update I spent a lot of time fixing small issues, making the UI a little cleaner, a ton of usability stuff.
Meal Planning:
-Improved the ingredient matching some more (This will be a constant battle, but it is getting better with each update)
-Adding multiple grocery meals to a meal card will result in multiple tabs at the top of the recipe viewer, you can easily and quickly switch between the recipes.
-Fixed bug causing the do not inventory ingredients button to remove the item from the ingredients on the recipe card.

Rewards
-Stars now have a manager modal so you can easily add a reason for adding or removing stars.

Calendar
-Better support for smaller screens, settings for calendar now have a show 3,5 or 7 day view as well as a small screen mode that hides a lot of the top bar UI for smaller screens.

Todo Lists
-Added wishlist support. Users have a todo list assigned to them as a todo list in their settings. This enables the list to have photos and links added. Any user can claim items on a wish list but the owner of the list does not see it. Great for not having multiple people buy or get the same thing. Wish list items can also be converted to rewards by assigning chore values
-who can see wish list claims is a permission setting, great for kiosk displays

  • Todo lists are no longer the same config across all instances of the card.
    -Better layout options

Other:
-Multicard login, the todo list card got a log in button and made the login persistent across all cards and dashboards, no more logging in to chores and rewards separate.
-Multicard FAB. When using more than one card on a dashboard the floating add buttons stacked on top of each other, now you can choose if you want the FAB in the bottom corner of the dashboard or the card.
-Cleaned up the user settings, moved permissions to the bottom of each user setting page instead of in their own tab. Better list management for users.
-Lots of little tiny things I cant think of……

Themes:
All cards can not have their theme set in their settings for making better dashboards.

NEW CARDS:
-Menu Box (BETA) New card similar to the menu box on the calendar that lets you browse menu items and recipes. This will get a lot more attention in the next update.
-Timers(BETA) This shows all active timers you have, chores and rewards can now have timers that are shown in this card. Next update will add more robust notifications and alarming for these going off.
