CRTPlayer 2.0 for Miyoo Mini Plus (OnionOS)

A drop-in companion app for the OnionOS FFplay video player that turns your video playback into a real CRT experience — scanlines, glow, grain, a choice of physical TV bezels, and a live in-app filter menu — all switchable on the fly with a button press, no need to leave the app or touch a script.

What's new in 2.0

  • Live filter toggle — turn the whole CRT effect on/off instantly while a video is playing

  • Three tuned presets, each with its own on-screen label:
    Warm Glow — clean scanlines, punchy color, soft highlight lift
    Classic CRT — the reference "textbook" CRT look
    VHS Tape — heavier grain and scanlines, warm tint, worn-tape mood

  • A custom filter menu — pause, pick exactly which effects you want
    (scanlines, saturation, vignette, glow, grain, tint) in any combination, and resume with your own custom look

  • Five bezel options — four physical/illustrated TV frames, cyclable live, plus a "no bezel" full-screen mode

All of the above work together — pick any preset or custom combo with any bezel, at any time, without restarting the app

What it does:
Scanlines (tuned to avoid color fringing on chroma-subsampled video)
Color/saturation boost
Vignette (darkened corners)
Film grain
Warm color tint
Highlight glow
Real TV bezel frames around your video, cycled live
A pause menu for fully custom filter combinations
All done via ffplay's built-in -vf filtergraph and a background button-listener script — no source modification, no recompiling.

CRTPlayer for Miyoo Mini Plus (OnionOS)

A drop-in companion app for the OnionOS FFplay video player that adds a CRT-style visual filter — scanlines, color pop, vignette, and film grain — so your videos look like they're playing on an old tube TV.

Runs as a separate app alongside the normal Video Player, so you can switch between clean playback and CRT mode from the main menu.
Please note* Videos should be cropped to 640x480 in HandBrake for best results, image of HandBrake settings included in folder. Widescreen videos/movies will not display CRT effect as intended.

Installation:

Download CRTPlayer.zip below
Unzip it
Copy the CRTPlayer folder to the App folder on your Miyoo Mini Plus SD card
CRTPlayer should appear as its own app in the OnionOS main menu — if it doesn't show up right away, try hitting Select to refresh
