Cookbook Club

Once a month, a group of friends get together for Cookbook Club. That month's host selects a cookbook and a subset of its recipes known as the wishlist. Each attendee selects one or two wishlist recipes (they are marked so that no recipe is made by two different attendees). When the day of Cookbook Club arrives, the friends gather for a delicious meal with dishes all made from the same cookbook.

After the gathering, attendees are left with memories and leftovers. But, despite enjoying many of the dishes, and having access to all the recipes that were made, I rarely go back and make any of them again. I think that primary reason for this is that I don't have a convenient way to recall which dishes I liked or look them up. I have no notes about what I tried and furthermore, I don't store the rest of my recipes in Google Sheets---the primary organizational tool for cookbook club.

That's where App-a-tizer, the Cookbook Club App, comes in. After joining a gathering of Cookbook Club using a unique url, attendees can see a list of all of the recipes that are making an appearance at Cookbook Club. It allows participants to rate, photograph, and take quick notes about each of the recipes. It even lets attendees see what others have rated the dishes. Conveniently, it also includes a link to the cookbook. App-a-tizer is easy to search so that I'll never forget a gem of a recipe again.
