Lost in darkness, maybe you'll find yourself on a journey towards something greater
Lumière is an approx. 48 hour even comprised of The Briefing, The Blackout, The Exposition, Development, and The Presentation.
Hackers are given a false plot and agenda of a seemingly boring hackathon, including fake meetings and meals and speeches and cafe hours and all. They are also given a team-level prompt and tools that could realistically help them create an answer to the prompt. Then, suddenly, and without warning:
A increase in intensity of the music and a few changes in genre lead into The Impact, where the lights turn off (excecpt for a few ambients, of course) and the event goes on hold for a brief presentation, where the truth of the event is told, and the agenda is revealed to be false. There, the "path" of the event (remainder of the agenda and plan) is left unknown (allegorically "in the darkness"), to be discovered slowly throughout the event. The only thing from the start of the event that remains going in is any tools that were given. However, they are given a new prompt: turn on the lights. Together, they must each find a key towards turning on the lights. (i have no clue how this will happen)
yeah
