Changes since v1.92

  • Better support for more HOTAS/HOSAS hardware
  • Improved button and hat mapping
  • New Traditional HOTAS brake modes, including analog braking
  • Added manual Left Trigger / Right Trigger mappings
  • Added Clear buttons for learned mappings
  • Improved tooltips, dropdowns, scrolling, and layout
  • Renamed control modes to Podracer Style and Traditional HOTAS
  • Added better live input diagnostics
  • Improved ViGEm checks and installer reliability

DirectInput support was expanded in this version. Earlier versions relied heavily on an older Windows joystick system called WinMM. It worked well for many devices, but some newer HOTAS/HOSAS hardware exposes extra controls—such as rotation axes, throttle sliders, additional buttons, and POV hats—that WinMM may not report correctly.

DirectInput gives the software access to a much broader set of controls, including:
X / Y / Z / X Rotation / Y Rotation / Z Rotation / Slider 1 / Slider 2
This can help if you previously experienced things like:

  • a throttle or slider not appearing
  • a rotation axis showing in joy.cpl but not working in the app
  • buttons or hats not being detected
  • newer flight hardware only being partially recognized
Existing users do not have to change anything if their setup already works. Your older WinMM configuration remains supported.

If you were having one of the issues above, open the app and change:
Input API → DirectInput
Then reselect or relearn the affected device, axis, button, or hat.
You can also use Auto if you want the app to choose the preferred input method automatically.
