v0.2.1
Fixed
- nvim-dap-ui no longer closes automatically when the debuggee exits. It opened
and then immediately closed on the program finishing, hiding the final scopes,
stack and REPL output. It now stays open for inspection; close it yourself
withrequire('dapui').close().
Install (lazy.nvim)
{ 'JarnDev/autodap.nvim', dependencies = { 'mfussenegger/nvim-dap', 'williamboman/mason.nvim' }, config = function() require('autodap').setup() end }v0.2.0
Added
- Auto-open nvim-dap-ui when a debug
session starts and close it when the session ends, if it is installed. New
uioption ('auto'by default;falseto leave the UI to you). autodap
does not calldapui.setup()for you.

Zero-config debugging for Neovim — a thin layer over nvim-dap that reads your project and configures the debugger for you. No launch.json, no per-language boilerplate.
Highlights
- Node / JS / TS, Python, C / C++ — monorepo-aware roots (nearest
package.json/pyproject/CMakeLists; hoistednode_modulesand virtualenvs). - C/C++: executable targets from the CMake File API, plus auto-compilation of a lone
.c/.cppwith-gwhen there is no build system. - Debug the test under the cursor — jest, vitest, pytest.
- Composes, never clobbers — registers as an nvim-dap config provider.
- Lazy adapter install via mason (optional);
