MacCleaner 1.0.8

What's new

Menu bar graphs:

  • Added a new Graphs section to the menu bar popover with Process History and Thermal Surface views.
  • Process History tracks CPU, memory, and relative energy activity for active applications over the last 30 minutes or four hours. It includes linear and logarithmic scales, minor-process filtering, per-process colors, hover details, and honest indications for gaps in collected data.
  • Thermal Surface maps available Mac temperature sensors onto an interactive 3D chassis view. You can rotate and zoom the surface, separate the heat and component layers, inspect internal zones, and view temperature severity, fan airflow, charging-port activity, and connected-display information when macOS exposes it.

Thermal Surface

Other changes:

  • Reduced unnecessary menu bar refresh work, reused the existing system monitor, bounded the local four-hour history, and paused hidden thermal animation to keep background overhead low.
  • Improved process-history continuity, startup behavior, switching responsiveness, sensor and fan decoding, and layout alignment in both light and dark appearances.

Install

  1. Download MacCleaner.dmg below.
  2. Open the DMG and drag MacCleaner to Applications.
  3. Open MacCleaner from Applications. If macOS blocks the first launch, allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

This build uses ad-hoc signing and is not notarized, so macOS may show an unknown-developer warning on first launch. Privileged manual fan control requires a future Developer ID build; fan telemetry remains available.

MacCleaner 1.0.7

What's new

New tools:

  • Added the local BETA File Reader to Tools for previewing PDF, image, text, and binary files without uploading or modifying the source.

Other changes:

  • Rebuilt the menu bar popover as a compact system dashboard with the same CPU, memory, disk, network, graphics, and battery cards used in MacCleaner.
  • Added Edit mode for reordering, hiding, and restoring menu bar dashboard cards, with smoother drag, settling, scrolling, and hover behavior.
  • Stacked status indicators into compact pairs and kept the MacCleaner app icon visible when all indicators are disabled.
  • Improved Apple Silicon fan telemetry and now reports helper availability instead of showing placeholder fan data.
  • Refined the update panel, Desktop workflow, companion Browser Monitor card, and general interface reliability.

MacCleaner 1.0.5

  • Redesigned Junk Files and Optimize cleanup reports as expandable lists: category → subcategory/folder → concrete paths, item counts, and sizes.
  • Added automatic selection for safe-to-remove entries while keeping protected, sensitive, and rebuildable data out of bulk cleanup.
  • Added developer-focused storage categories for Xcode, SwiftPM, npm, pnpm, Python, Docker, Ollama, Hugging Face, browser caches, logs, and related tool artifacts.
  • Improved Optimize so the user can review exactly what will be cleaned, reuse the selected scan scope on subsequent analyses, and access Startup items without a separate sidebar destination.
  • Added targeted administrator authorization retry for Large Files only after a normal Trash operation reports a permission failure.
  • Strengthened Trash-only deletion, MacCleaner data protection, open-browser checks, and dirty Git project confirmation.
  • Added a session-safe Drop Shelf: originals remain untouched, drag-out uses disposable exports, and Copy for paste supports files, images, and text in destinations such as Telegram.
  • Expanded Agents with local footprint and process context, and added native system load notifications with CPU, temperature, and top contributing processes.
  • Updated Clipboard History keyboard insertion, menu bar telemetry presentation, Settings controls, documentation, and validation coverage.

@Jas952 Jas952 released this 18 Jul 13:22

MacCleaner 1.0.4

  • Redesigned Junk Files as a hierarchical list: category → folder/subcategory → concrete paths and sizes.
  • Small files inside large folders are grouped into one aggregate row with the item count and total size.
  • Safe, rebuildable, and downloadable-again data is selected automatically for cleanup.
  • Developer and AI data is separated by owner, including Xcode, SwiftPM, npm, pnpm, Python, Docker, Ollama, Hugging Face, and other tools.
  • Protected categories are hidden by default and can be revealed for review; they are excluded from bulk cleanup.
  • Large Files now offers a targeted administrator authorization retry only after a normal permission failure.
  • Strengthened Trash-only deletion, MacCleaner data protection, open-browser checks, and dirty Git project confirmation.
  • Updated the Storage interface, safety explanations, documentation, and validation scenarios.
