@JasonS-V JasonS-V released this 25 Oct 20:40

Screen-Pin 0.1.2

This release focuses on high-precision OCR extraction for web URLs, alphanumeric hashes, code tokens, and small screen text, eliminating character fusion and spurious spaces.

Highlights & Key Improvements

  • High-Fidelity Link & Alphanumeric OCR: Replaced cubic spline filtering with Lanczos-3 interpolation in the image scaling pipeline. This preserves single-pixel stroke contrast in tiny screen fonts (~8px text height) and prevents character fusion (such as t5 muting into IS or 6m into EmM).
  • Intelligent URL Reconstruction: Added automatic URL path reassembly (repair_line_urls) to eliminate spurious spaces accidentally inserted by word-segmenting engines within web addresses (e.g., PH 13iLq $\to$ PH13iLq).
  • Google Docs/Sheets/Drive ID Disambiguation: Added prefix disambiguation for Google Drive file IDs (/d/l $\to$ /d/1), ensuring spreadsheet and document links remain 100% clickable and valid upon copying.
  • Protected Web Link Routing in OCR Pipeline: Refined is_technical heuristics to prevent Tesseract language model priors from overwriting superior native Windows OCR recognition on web URLs and domains.
  • Clippy & Linter Hardening: Refactored URL matching and character checks to meet strict clippy standards without warnings.

v0.1.1 - Stability, UI & OCR Enhancements

Choose a tag to compare

@JasonS-V JasonS-V released this 19 Oct 21:02

Screen-Pin 0.1.1

This maintenance and quality release fixes visual flickering, improves text selection over floating pins, hardens the capture overlay near screen boundaries, and refines OCR recognition for banking and technical details.

Highlights & Key Improvements

  • Flicker-Free Window Startup (No FOUC): Synchronous view state resolution prevents secondary windows (transparent pin stickers, capture overlay, and memory manager) from briefly flashing the default companion window during their first frame.
  • Independent OCR Text Selection: Added proper drag-region exclusion (data-tauri-drag-region="false") so dragging over recognized OCR text selects the characters smoothly rather than accidentally moving the native window chassis.
  • Smooth Proximity Toolbar: Fixed premature toolbar dismissal when the cursor exits the pin boundaries, allowing the native proximity monitor (with its 60px/24px margin) to smoothly handle toolbar transitions without visual flickering.
  • Copy Feedback Toast: Added an instant tactile visual toast notification on the floating pin chassis when copying OCR words via Ctrl+C or Enter.
  • Drag-to-App Fix in Memory: Prevented accidental re-pinning of library thumbnails when dragging images from Memory into external desktop applications.
  • Robust Overlay Loupe & Navigation:
    • Clamped coordinates in the pixel loupe, preventing IndexSizeError and canvas blanking when sampling near multi-monitor edges.
    • Centered default keyboard cursor coordinates to prevent navigation keys from jumping abruptly to (0, 0).
    • Added bottom-edge overflow protection for selection dimension badges.
  • Enhanced OCR for Bank Accounts & Credentials: Improved entity extraction to evaluate candidate text following long labels or delimiters (such as Número de cuenta bancaria: 191-...).

v0.1.0 - First Release

Choose a tag to compare

@JasonS-V JasonS-V released this 17 Oct 07:35

Screen-Pin 0.1.0

The first release of Screen-Pin for Windows and macOS. Capture part of your screen, keep it floating above other windows, and retrieve the image or recognized text later from local storage.

Highlights

  • Capture a screen region with Alt + Shift + S on Windows or ⌥ + ⇧ + S on macOS.
  • Recognize text locally, without sending captures to a server.
  • Search, copy, and reopen saved captures.
  • Use Ghost Mode to click through a pinned capture.
  • Automatically expire captures identified as sensitive, with an option to keep them.

Downloads

  • Windows: NSIS installer or portable ZIP. The portable version stores its data alongside the executable; move the entire folder to keep your captures.
  • macOS: Separate ZIPs for Apple Silicon and Intel.

On macOS, grant Screen Recording permission when prompted. This initial release is signed ad hoc but is not notarized, so you may need to allow it manually in Privacy & Security.
