More reliable context compaction
Percho now triggers automatic compaction based on a percentage of the model's context window, instead of a fixed token margin. This makes compaction work more consistently across models with different context sizes, including models with very large context windows.
The summary input is bounded to reduce the risk of compaction getting stuck on an oversized request. Compaction also backs off when it is not making progress, and records why a trigger was skipped to help diagnose behavior. (#106, #107)
Better cross-session workflows
- See a session's active channel subscriptions at a glance, and return from a subagent to its parent session with a dedicated back button.
- Session page transitions are smoother when switching between sessions.
- The model catalog refreshes automatically when you open Settings → Models. The former LAN Observation settings section is now called Cross-device Connection.
Retry failed model requests
You can retry a failed model response without sending your user message again. Desktop sessions also retain discovered APPEND_SYSTEM.md prompts when loading project resources. (#111)
Windows update diagnostics
If an update fails to install on Windows, Percho now keeps a local diagnostic record and provides recovery guidance. The report is not uploaded automatically and excludes session contents and secrets. It may include local paths, so review it before sharing.
This improves visibility into update failures; it does not claim to identify or fix every underlying installer failure. (#104, #105)
Chat and usability improvements
- Long user messages can be collapsed and expanded with an animation.
- Project names display more consistently for Windows paths.
- Thinking indicators and work animations no longer show during compaction.
Download: macOS (Apple Silicon / Intel) · Windows x64 · Linux x64 (AppImage) — see assets below. Existing installs will offer the update from the title bar or Settings → About (on adhoc-signed macOS builds the button opens this page instead). On Linux, chmod +x the AppImage before first launch.
