๐Ÿš€ Carbon Lang โ€“ First Public Binary Release

Say hello to Carbon Lang โ€” a lightweight, expressive, and beginner-friendly programming language designed with simplicity and readability at its core. This binary release lets you run Carbon programs directly from your terminal or shell without needing to build from source.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Features in this Release

  • Intuitive Syntax: Inspired by the best of Rust, C, and Python.
  • println! and printn! macros for easy output handling.
  • var_c keyword for clean and consistent variable declarations.
  • Full support for:
    • Integers (int)
    • Floating-point numbers (float)
    • Characters (char)
    • Conditional logic (if, else if, else)
  • Readable, expressive code โ€” perfect for learning and rapid prototyping.

๐Ÿ“ฆ What's Inside?

  • โœ… Precompiled binaries for:
    • Windows (x64)
    • Linux (x64)
    • macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon)
  • ๐Ÿ“ Sample .carbon program file to get started.
  • ๐Ÿ“– README and Quickstart Guide included.

๐Ÿ“„ Example Code

println! "Hello, Carbon"
var_c a = 6
var_c b = 5

if a > b {
    printn! "Hi, this works "
    println! "Carbon is awesome"
}
else {
    println! "5.8 lies in between 5 and 6"
}

โšก How to Use

  1. Download the binary for your platform from the Releases section.
  2. Make the binary executable (Linux/macOS):
chmod +x carbon
  1. Run your Carbon file:
./carbon your_program.carbon
  1. You can also drag and drop your .carbon file into the terminal if you're using graphical interfaces.
