Launchpad, back where it belongs, and now it feels like it too.
This release is mostly about feel. We went through the grid one motion at a time until it moved the way your hands
remember.
It feels like the original
- Pages follow your fingers, then resist a little, and settle into place.
- Hold one app over another and it turns into a folder right there. Folders open out of their icon and close back
into it. - Open folders are dark and translucent, like they used to be.
- Drag an app and the others make room smoothly. Hold it at the edge of the screen to carry it to the next page.
- Hold ⌥ and the icons wiggle. Let go and they stop.
It's smoother
- Dragging, making room and wiggling no longer stutter.
- Icons are kept between launches and loaded ahead of time, so the grid opens with everything already in place.
- The blurred background is prepared ahead of time, so opening and closing stay smooth.
Easier to set up
- A short welcome guide gets you going: your shortcut, hot corner or pinch, your grid size, and your old Launchpad
layout if it's still on your Mac. - A proper Settings window with five tabs.
- Click the menu bar icon to open the grid. Right-click it for the menu.
- A "What's New" card after each update.
Little things
- Right-click any app to open it, add it to the Dock, quit it, move it to another page, hide it, rename it, see its
info, or move it to the Trash. - No more arrows on apps you added as links or aliases. They look like the app itself.
- Plugging in or unplugging a screen while the grid is open just works. Pick which screen it appears on in Settings.
- The grid now always uses a dark look, whatever your system appearance.
- LaunchMat no longer asks for access to your Downloads folder when your desktop picture is stored there.
- The interface is now available in Simplified Chinese.
Install: download LaunchMat-0.2.0.dmg, open it, and drag LaunchMat into Applications. Signed and notarized by
Apple. macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon and Intel. Already using LaunchMat? Just replace the app. Your
pages, folders and settings stay.

中文：这一版主要在手感上下功夫。翻页跟手、到一段距离后有点阻力，再稳稳落位；把一个 App 停在另一个上面就地变成文件夹，文件夹从图标里展开、关上时收回图标；
拖动和让位、按住 ⌥ 抖动都更顺了，图标会提前载好，打开就是齐的。新增欢迎引导和五个标签页的设置窗口，点菜单栏图标打开网格、右键是菜单；界面支持简体中文。
直接替换旧版即可，页面、文件夹和设置都会保留。
