@Jindequan Jindequan released this 10 Oct 03:15

Ant's first downloadable macOS preview brings account configuration, provider-specific quota observations and read-only model route previews into a local menu bar app.

Download and install

Requires macOS 13 or later. The universal package includes Apple Silicon and Intel builds. Open the DMG, drag Ant into Applications and launch it. The ZIP contains the same application.

The application is Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple, and includes a stapled ticket. The packaged app passed Gatekeeper assessment (Notarized Developer ID), including after mounting the DMG. The DMG container is also Developer ID signed. SHA256SUMS covers the final DMG and ZIP.

Available in this preview

  • Configure accounts and connect credentials, preserving provider-specific subscriptions, balances and quota windows.
  • Observe resource readings, reset times, model scope and freshness.
  • Inspect route candidates and exclusion reasons; pause/resume accounts and save per-model candidate order.
  • Native supply modules for Z.ai, DeepSeek, Kimi and Alibaba Bailian, alongside other observational adapters. Capabilities vary by provider.
  • Bundled Go service, native SwiftUI menu bar panel and local SQLite storage. No separate server installation is required.

Real request consumption, automatic failover and usage attribution are still planned. Route previews do not send billable inference requests. Provider subscriptions and API charges are separate from the free app download.

Gemini CLI refresh reads its OAuth client from the installed CLI on PATH. Ant no longer embeds the client credentials; if the CLI cannot be found, fresh access tokens still work and expired-token refresh reports an error.

Data and removal

The app may discover supported local sign-ins and issue read-only provider usage/balance requests. Local configuration/database files remain under ~/.config/ant; no account database is included in these downloads. Quit Ant and remove the app to uninstall. Local records remain until you deliberately remove them.

Report problems through GitHub issues with app/macOS versions. Do not include API keys, cookies, tokens or unredacted account exports.

Validation and limits

Uncached go test -race -count=1 -p 1 ./... and go vet ./... passed. Both executable architectures declare macOS 13.0. The signed native app and bundled server launched on Apple Silicon with synthetic demo data; desktop/mobile landing layouts were checked. Intel and actual macOS 13 runtime testing remain pending; those targets were cross-compiled and their load commands checked.

This is an early preview, published as a prerelease for testing and feedback.
