@Jmesmykil Jmesmykil released this 18 Sep 22:50

Kernel 2.2.8 for the OpenHome DevKit (CPython 3.13, linux aarch64).

  • The clock answers tomorrow's and yesterday's date, and "what time is that" when the recogniser writes "that" for "it".
  • A reminder given with no am or pm ("remind me at five") is set for the next time the clock reads it, not the next morning.
  • How far away the Moon and the Sun are.

@Jmesmykil Jmesmykil released this 13 Sep 17:00

The compiled Astral engine for the DevKit.

Built on the DevKit, for what it runs on: CPython 3.13, linux aarch64. A wheel is
architecture and interpreter specific, which is a property of compiled code rather than
a defect. A device that already has the local hub does not need this at all.

Changed since 2.2.6: timer cancellation accepts the past tense. The device's own speech
model transcribes "cancel the timer" as "canceled the timer" often enough to matter, and
nobody says that to a speaker meaning anything else.

Verified on the device before publishing: the package imports, reports version 2.2.7,
exposes exactly answer and command, computes answers, returns structured device
commands, and returns nothing for questions it should not answer.

@Jmesmykil Jmesmykil released this 13 Sep 16:57

The compiled Astral engine for the DevKit.

community/astral/requirements.txt points at the wheel below, and OpenHome's platform
installs it the way it installs any other dependency. The ability itself is MIT and
readable; this is the engine behind it.

Built on the DevKit, so it matches what it runs on: CPython 3.13, linux aarch64. A wheel
is architecture and interpreter specific, which is a property of compiled code rather
than a defect. A device that already has the local hub does not need this at all.
