This release tightens SAGE-Kit's model-native routing while keeping project work lightweight.

  • Adds a compact Product Reality Preflight for complex Standard and Heavy milestones, covering ownership, the real execution path, evidence reach, user or system entry, durable outcomes, and delivered artifacts.
  • Keeps that preflight inside the existing SPEC or plan. It does not introduce another required document, approval gate, default E2E suite, or mandatory review.
  • Restores the Codex GPT-5.6 runtime policy for Root controllers and descendants: Superpowers workflows stay disabled while native brainstorming, planning, TDD, debugging, subagents, review, and verification remain available.
  • Clarifies that explicit human risk decisions constrain agent discretion without granting new permissions.
  • Preserves specialist Skills and tools under the existing controller instead of treating them as duplicate orchestration.

Repository and portable Skill checks pass on Ubuntu, Windows, and macOS.

SAGE-Kit installations now carry their required framework references and package identity with them, so routing no longer depends on a particular source checkout path.

Claude Code path protection now rejects ambiguous project roots instead of guessing from the current working directory, with matching behavior across Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

Claim-Evidence Trust

  • Evidence can no longer outrun the capability claim it is meant to support; depth, fidelity, result quality, and currency stay aligned.
  • Historical acceptance is preserved as history and no longer masquerades as current trust.
  • Changes invalidate and reverify only the claims they actually affect, within bounded scope authority.
  • A project AGENTS.md bootstrap plus implicit Skill activation removes the need for per-prompt explicit invocation.
  • Light remains kernel-only, while advanced routes load once when the work requires them.
  • No CLI, runtime, package, wheel, or custom bundle is introduced.

Adoption

Installed Skill and consumer adoption remain separate project decisions and require the appropriate restart when chosen.

SAGE-Kit v2026.8.3.1 — Model-Native

@JoeKeepGo JoeKeepGo released this 03 Aug 06:21

SAGE-Kit is now model-native

This is a breaking release. SAGE-Kit is now a SPEC and Harness framework that models follow directly from project authority and active specifications. It no longer places an executable framework runtime between the model and the project.

What changed

  • Light, Standard, and Heavy workflows now scale with actual risk.
  • Project-native focused checks and required CI provide execution evidence.
  • The Python package, CLI, runtime, wheel, candidate service, process supervisor, and framework-owned state are removed.
  • Zero-to-product planning, milestones, waves, phases, lanes, compact ACTIVE_CONTEXT handoff, permission separation, review, and human acceptance remain available.
  • Graph and Node Result contracts remain optional, static, and language-neutral; they do not execute work or grant authority.

Migration

Follow the model-native migration guide to remove former package/runtime calls and adopt the direct model workflow.

Hosts and limitations

Guidance is included for Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, and Kimi. Host adapters remain subject to project authority. Claude hooks are optional managed safeguards, not a substitute for host-enforced permissions. Cross-milestone continuation depends on the host and requires an admitted, preauthorized scope.

SAGE-Kit v2026.7.28.4 packages the framework, canonical resources, and host-installable Skill as one verifiable release set.

Highlights:

  • A complete seven-file release inventory with checksums and an explicit Skill manifest.
  • Canonical Embedded Harness and contract resources ship inside the Python package.
  • The versioned Skill bundle resolves package documentation across source, wheel, and installed deployments.
  • English and Chinese README architecture guidance stays aligned for product planning and execution.

SAGE-Kit 2026.7.28.3 makes the host Skill a clear, versioned companion to the Python package. The bundle is explicit and checksummed, while package resources remain the canonical source for runtime contracts.\n\nIt also makes PowerShell schema-parity checks dependable on Windows by running the full probe set in one bounded process and preserving actionable timeout diagnostics.\n\nThe guided flow remains the same: define the current spec, resolve readiness, execute with bounded evidence, then review and hand off with a compact context.

Embedded Harness and canonical resources

SAGE-Kit 2026.7.28.1 completes the transition from a public CLI and duplicated documentation mirrors to an embeddable, project-bound Harness with one canonical packaged resource tree.

Highlights

  • Replaced public CLI workflows with the sagekit Python Harness API.
  • Added location-independent SPEC sources, normalized identity, workspace binding, candidate freezing, checkpoints, and managed execution primitives.
  • Preserved project authority: SAGE-Kit mechanisms cannot manufacture product requirements, threat models, migrations, gates, or acceptance criteria.
  • Added authority-bound findings, evidence lineage, graph/runtime contracts, deterministic recovery, and affected-only verification reuse.
  • Enforced Root Controller resource ownership, serial heavy verification, process-tree cleanup, and truthful non-PASS dispositions.
  • Consolidated framework documentation and contracts under sagekit/resources; removed the duplicate top-level docs mirror and rebuild process artifacts.
  • Reworked the English and Chinese READMEs around the current Harness architecture, installation, controller workflow, and compatibility model.

Compatibility

  • Python 3.10-3.12 in CI; runtime remains standard-library only.
  • Thin documents retain the machine contract ID thin-v1.
  • Frozen execution-document contract 2026.7.20.1 remains supported.
  • Explicit legacy-markdown projects remain supported without rewriting accepted history.
  • Installed Skills are not overwritten automatically; synchronize local customizations separately and restart the host runtime.

Verification

  • GitHub Actions run 30285782652: 24/24 jobs passed across Ubuntu, Windows, and macOS.
  • Local focused, unit, integration, source-repository, fresh-wheel, and outside-source package lanes passed serially.
  • The release includes a universal Python wheel and its SHA-256 checksum.

Install

python -m pip install "git+https://github.com/JoeKeepGo/SAGE-Kit.git@v2026.7.28.1"

Or download the attached wheel and verify it with the accompanying .sha256 file.

SPEC sources decoupled from document location

SAGE-Kit now resolves project authority through a source adapter and compiles a location-independent normalized SPEC before handing work to the Harness. Milestone documents remain first-class project assets; their directory is provenance, not execution authority.

What changed

  • Added explicit sagekit packet compile --source <path> support and optional project source mappings.
  • Preserved the legacy docs/<M> adapter without silently falling back when an explicit or configured source fails.
  • Added normalized SPEC identity and packet schema v3 while retaining strict packet v2 compatibility.
  • Kept ACTIVE_CONTEXT as a configurable compact handoff view; candidates, leases, attempts, counters, and other runtime state remain under .sagekit.
  • Added active/history/all scope handling. Projects adopting the new scope contract default to active-only execution; legacy and unversioned projects retain their prior behavior.
  • Made package-bound adoption the default. Full framework vendoring is now an explicit compatibility profile.
  • Preserved planning depth: SAGE-Kit imposes no universal maximum on Milestones, Waves, Phases, or changed files.
  • Narrowed resource admission so deterministic read-only operations do not acquire heavy leases or start platform containment machinery.

Version and compatibility

  • Runtime/package version: 2026.7.20.2.
  • Frozen execution-document contract: 2026.7.20.1, unchanged.
  • Existing projects are not silently migrated. A project without machine-readable authority must explicitly add a project binding or source mapping before active-only readiness can pass.
  • Synthetic packet compilation proves supported CLI topology only; it does not imply that a real project has completed adoption or PM acceptance.

Verification

  • Source-location decoupling PR #9: 15/15 checks passed.
  • Release preparation PR #10: 15/15 checks passed.
  • Main push CI run 29740189756: 15/15 checks passed across Ubuntu, Windows, and macOS.
  • Targeted release documentation tests: 38 passed, 1 platform capability skip.
  • Source-repository check: 285 PASS, 0 WARN, 0 FAIL.
  • Frozen 2026.7.20.1 contract resources remained byte-identical.

Installation

pipx install git+https://github.com/JoeKeepGo/SAGE-Kit.git@v2026.7.20.2

Installed local Skills are not overwritten by this release. Review and synchronize local Skill customizations separately, then restart the agent runtime.
