JoeyOS 1.0.69
Google backup and sync (Settings > Tools > Google backup):
- Sign in with Google and JoeyOS keeps your whole setup in your own Google Drive, in a hidden area only JoeyOS can see: settings, dock and emulator choices, dock icons, wallpapers, second screen settings, downloaded guides and your place in them, saved videos, hunted achievements, and your RetroAchievements login.
- Each device keeps its own backup, updated within about a minute of a change, plus a week of daily settings copies.
- Restore any device's backup onto this one, or go back to an earlier day's settings.
- Sync with my other devices: devices with it on share one setup, and a change on one reaches the others within a minute or two. With it off, a device keeps its own setup.
- Delete my backups removes everything JoeyOS keeps in your Drive. Google backup needs Google sign-in, which some handhelds don't have.

Also:
- The second screen can open a game's video straight away (from 1.0.68).
- Faster connections to Google on networks with broken IPv6.
JoeyOS 1.0.69.1 (test build)
Test build, not for general use.
JoeyOS 1.0.68
- New second screen setting, Open the game's video straight away: when a game's guide is a video you shared, going to the Guide (or a game opening on it) opens the video in YouTube.
JoeyOS 1.0.67
- Now playing: starting the same game again from JoeyOS shows its achievements straight away. It could take up to two minutes, waiting for RetroAchievements to update.
JoeyOS 1.0.66
Guide (second screen):
- Your video: while playing, share a YouTube video to JoeyOS (Share > JoeyOS) and it becomes that game's guide. The Guide then opens on it, with Watch, Change guide and Remove. Share another video to change it.
- The YouTube button opens on search results for the game, not YouTube's home page.
- Contents finds a guide's real section headings, so it jumps to the right places.
- Reading options: everything can be reached with the controller.
Controls:
- The second screen's tabs: L1 / R1 move the highlight with the page, work straight after tapping the screen, and Up always lands on the open tab. When a game starts and Now playing opens, the highlight goes with it.
- Settings: Up from a tab's content goes back to that tab, not Appearance.
- Coming back from YouTube or another app, the second screen's controls work straight away.
- After an update, the controller goes back to the screen you were using.
Other:
- The update prompt appears straight after the download, with no wait.
- Now playing no longer says it can't find the game when the second screen has only just reopened.
JoeyOS 1.0.65
Second screen with a controller:
- Everything you can press now shows the blue highlight: year rows, achievements (story and win ones too), the game's icon, pictures, the Guide's arrow, and guide colours.
- L1 / R1 switch between the second screen's tabs.
- Down from Search RetroAchievements goes to the first total, not the third.
- The Guide's search sites (IGN, StrategyWiki, Web) can be reached with left and right.
- The Guide's Options and Contents can be used with the controller, and B closes them.
- Search boxes (Find in a guide, Search RetroAchievements) highlight first and open the keyboard when you press A, like every other box.
- Leaderboards and an achievement's comments can be scrolled through with the D-pad.
Fixes:
- Starting the same game again soon after now shows on Now playing; it could stay on "not recognised".
JoeyOS 1.0.64
- Transitions: Settings tabs, the Tools tab's tools, popups, the App Drawer and the second screen's pages now fade and slide in. They're quick, never get in the way of the controls, and follow Android's Remove animations setting.
- The achievement list remembers your Show and Sort choices (To beat, Rarest and so on) for every game.
JoeyOS 1.0.63
Fixes:
- Arcade games (FinalBurn Neo, MAME) no longer go missing from Recently Played. A game like Neo Turf Masters, whose file has a short name (turfmast.zip), was hidden as if its file had been deleted.
- Now playing on the second screen shows one earlier status line instead of three.
JoeyOS 1.0.62
PC games:
- DroidDeck can go on the dock with the other PC game apps.
- DroidDeck and GameNative list their installed games on the dock, and launch them directly. Your recently played games (ones started from JoeyOS) come first.
- DroidDeck: switch on Games > Frontend files > Sync all game files to folder (a folder like ROMs/steam is easiest).
- GameNative: Settings > Interface > Frontend Sync, a folder for each store (Steam, Epic, GOG, Amazon, custom games).
JoeyOS finds those folders on its own.
JoeyOS 1.0.61
Second screen:
- Guide: a game's RetroAchievements guide, when it has one, is first in the list of guides. Save keeps it to read offline, and it reopens where you left off.
- Time to beat: how long most players take to beat the game, and how long you took once you've beaten it. The session summary compares the two when you beat a game.
- Fastest beats on the Achievements overview, with a full list sorted fastest or longest.
- Achievements: how far into the game each one is usually earned (in its details and on hunted achievements), a RARE tag for ones fewer than 5% of players have, and a Rarest sort.
- Tap a game's icon for its box art, title screen and a screenshot, and how many players have beaten it.
- The filters and sort are now two buttons, Show and Sort, so the achievements start higher up.
- The to-beat tile says Done once a game is beaten, and counts the way RetroAchievements does.
Fixes:
- JoeyOS no longer floods RetroAchievements with requests (searching every game could get it refused for a while). A refused request now waits a moment and tries again.
- Updated game title lists.
