06152026 - CEMU update

@JoeysRetroHandhelds JoeysRetroHandhelds released this 15 Jun 15:19
2291567

CHANGELOG

This JSON is not new or updated, however because CEMU was updated and will show a conflict, I wanted to share what to do.

The signing key changed for the new CEMU release, so because of that, Android may refuse to install CEMU Android v0.5.1 over a previous build.

If Android refuses to update:

  1. Back up your saves first, especially if they are still only stored inside app storage. (will only apply to AYN/Retroid devices or any that can access Android/data storage, but the path is android/data/info.cemu.cemu/files/mlc01/usr - the save and title folders should be backed up.)

  2. Uninstall the old version.

  3. Install CEMU Android v0.5.1 using Obtainium.

  4. Restore or reconfigure your save sync / custom root setup if needed.

Please do not uninstall the old version until your saves are backed up or synced externally if you can.

@JoeysRetroHandhelds JoeysRetroHandhelds released this 10 Apr 15:19
d0ec796

CHANGELOG

Fixing Syncthing-Fork.

Syncthing-Fork changed their package ID, so we need to fix that.

To be able to update Syncthing-Fork, you will need to backup and restore. Open Syncthing-Fork, Settings, Import and Export, set a path for backup in Relative path to config archive if not set, set a password in Config protection password, then Export Configuration.

Uninstall the app, reinstall with the new update, go through the setup wizard, back to Settings, Import and Export, make sure the path is the same as before, reinput your password in Config protection password, then Import Configuration.

You may need to fix some Ignore Patterns if you use them, I had to.

How to use? Download joeys-obtainium.json below > Open Obtainium > Import/export > Obtainium import > select the json.

04062026 - Adding APS3E, GameNative & tracked updates for this Github!

@JoeysRetroHandhelds JoeysRetroHandhelds released this 06 Apr 21:59
d0ec796

CHANGELOG

Added APS3E & GameNative.

APS3E vs. RPCSX for PS3 emulation is a case by case basis, so you need both and GameNative is the defacto PC emulation choice on Android.

The biggest addition however is the newest entry for joeys-obtainium, which is set to track only. It will notify you when there is new updates to this Github so you can grab the latest release (which you can do manually).

How to use? Download joeys-obtainium.json below > Open Obtainium > Import/export > Obtainium import > select the json.

03/19/2026 UPDATE

@JoeysRetroHandhelds JoeysRetroHandhelds released this 19 Mar 16:08

Hey everyone - we have a new update to Obtainium and this is important for AYN Thor and dual screen users.

The fork of MelonDS that we all use has changed it's package ID, which means it's not compatible with your existing one and can't update. You will have to uninstall MelonDS and re-install it with the new updated JSON.

Once re-installed, you will have to re-setup MelonDS. All of your saves will be fine as long as you followed my guide and set a folder for all your saves, just rechoose that folder when setting up the emulator again.
