Player Config

Enchantment Core utilizes Config Overhauled to provide a seamless, in-game configuration menu. The settings are divided into several core categories based on their scope and function.

General

The General category contains global, server-side rules that dictate fundamental mechanics, compatibility, and default behaviors across all worlds.

Combat Rules

  • protection_numerator (Default: 20.0): The absolute maximum effective protection points you can accumulate from worn enchantments.
  • protection_denominator (Default: 25.0): The baseline value utilized to calculate the actual damage reduction curve. By default, achieving the maximum 20 points against a denominator of 25 results in an 80% total damage reduction (20 / 25 = 0.8). Note: This value must mathematically remain higher than the numerator.

Data

  • configurable_enchantment_resource_pack_activation_type (Enum): Dictates how the built-in "Configurable Default Enchantments" pack behaves upon world creation. Valid options are OPTIONAL, ACTIVE (enabled by default), and REQUIRED (forced on).

Data Transformer

These settings are primarily for modpack creators attempting to resolve extreme edge-case incompatibilities with other mods that inject unconventional data into enchantments.

  • type_exclusions: A list of specific enchantment effect identifiers (e.g., mod_id:weird_effect) that the internal data transformer should ignore during dynamic configuration injection.
  • structural_exclusions: A list of raw JSON node keys that the transformer should skip.

Enchanting

  • base_enchantability (Default: 0): The base enchantability value forced upon items that natively possess an enchantability of 0 (meaning they normally cannot be enchanted in an enchanting table). Higher values yield better enchantments at lower XP levels. Leaving this at 0 keeps the vanilla behavior intact.

Explosion

  • enhance_block_explosion (Default: false): By default, Minecraft heavily dampens explosions that detonate inside of a solid block. Setting this to true forces internal explosions to behave as if they detonated in open air, significantly increasing their destructive output against surrounding terrain.

Spell Field

  • block_blacklist: A list of block registry names (e.g., minecraft:bedrock, minecraft:end_portal) that are strictly immune to any block-modifying effects generated by the Spell Field API (such as transmutation or block breaking). This protects critical world structures.

Enchantment

This category serves as the dynamic hub for all configurable enchantments.

By default, this menu may appear empty. However, when you enable a datapack that utilizes Enchantment Core's dynamic wrappers (such as the built-in Configurable Default Enchantments pack), this category will automatically populate.

It generates sub-groups for every configured enchantment, allowing you to tweak:

  • Max Levels
  • Rarity Weights
  • Anvil Costs
  • Supported Item Slots
  • Valid Target Items

Any changes made here are instantly applied to the game without requiring a restart.

Client

The Client category governs local, visual features that do not affect server-side gameplay mechanics.

Tooltip

  • formatting (Default: false): Toggles Enchantment Core's custom tooltip rendering enhancements for items in your inventory.

Accessibility

These properties control the visual formatting of the chat alerts sent to Server Operators when the Orphanage system intervenes to save a broken datapack.

  • alert_color: The hex color code for the warning text. (Default: #FF5555 - Red)
  • log_directory_link_color: The hex color code for the clickable link that copies the server's log path to your clipboard. (Default: #55FFFF - Aqua)
