- 五档雨量：毛毛雨、小雨、中雨、大雨、暴雨。桌面和屏保分别保存；总雨滴上限为 100 / 220 / 600 / 900 / 1,200。
- 静止水滴使用多种稳定轮廓；滑落采用圆润水团、伸缩水颈和渐淡水痕。大滴留下较宽水痕，修复水痕接缝黑圈。
- 限制吞并后的水滴尺寸，小水滴滑落更慢，持续滑落不再短暂停顿。
- 屏保支持背景图片、预先柔焦和水滴内的近似弯曲倒像折射。

Rain Window adds five intensity levels, pointer-released drops, merging, temporary glass fractures, varied bead silhouettes and size-dependent sliding speeds. Wet trails scale with drop size and fade without dark circular seams. Screen saver images support soft focus and approximate curved refraction.

Rain is a simplified visual simulation. Desktop overlays do not capture or refract the desktop; image refraction is available in the screen saver. Performance varies by resolution, display count and hardware.

先从托盘退出旧版，再运行新包，现有个人配置可保留。进入「屏保」→「打开 Windows 屏保设置」，选择 DesktopLife、设置等待时间并点击“应用”。升级后重复此步骤以更新系统使用的屏保副本；只启动主程序或预览不会启用自动屏保。
Exit the old desktop app from its tray menu before upgrading. Preferences are retained. Open the main app's Screen saver page, open Windows settings, select DesktopLife and Apply an idle timeout. Repeat this after upgrading to use the new screen saver copy. Windows can start it even when the desktop app is closed.

What's new / 更新
- Spider / 蜘蛛：新增八足爬行蜘蛛，写实与可爱外观，支持数量、尺寸范围、鼠标避让和跨屏移动。默认关闭，在“生物配置”中把蜘蛛数量设为大于 0 即可体验。
- Longer jumps / 更远的跳跃：100% 尺寸、无遮挡时，蟋蟀普通跳距 160–260 像素，蚱蜢 300–450 像素；受惊跳距增加 30%。跳距按起跳时的尺寸缩放，腾空高度提高，落点不受帧率影响。屏幕边界与空隙仍限制位移。
- Ladybug wings / 瓢虫翅膀：透明后翅改为窄根、圆润末端，拍翅时加入俯视宽度变化，红色鞘翅展开角度收小。
- 桌面与屏保同步支持以上变化，两种外观均适用；旧配置保持兼容。蜘蛛采用地栖爬行表现，暂不模拟结网、捕食或跳跃。
Spiders have eight articulated legs and realistic/cute appearances, with population and size controls. Cricket and grasshopper jumps now scale with body size, gain extra range when startled, and land consistently across frame rates. Ladybug wings have a narrower silhouette and a foreshortened stroke. Both programs include all changes; existing settings remain compatible.

Validation
174 automated tests pass. Both visual styles pass motion-stage and transparent rendering checks at 100%, 125% and 150% DPI. Screen saver preview parenting, resizing and cleanup are verified.
Crickets and grasshoppers now jump, and ladybugs take off, fly and land. All 12 insects support cute and realistic styles. This release also unifies population controls and corrects ladybug and mantis legs. Both self-contained ZIPs belong to the same version and share one checksum manifest.

Adds eight realistic insect types to both desktop and screen saver modes. Each supports population and size controls; new species default to zero to preserve your existing setup. Relative proportions and grounded walking are modeled; jumping and takeoff are not yet simulated for the additions.

Configure per-species minimum and maximum sizes (10–300%). Defaults: cockroaches 60–180%, ants 60–120%, caterpillars 60–140%. Desktop changes preserve creature positions and populations; screen saver preferences are independent. Existing configurations adopt the new default ranges.
The compact green settings UI groups population and size controls, collapses display information, shortcuts and capture options, and keeps pause/save actions visible. Multi-monitor behavior remains available.
Validation
124 unit tests passed. Settings persistence, immediate size application, legacy defaults, display changes, collapsed/expanded display information and narrow English layout checked. Screen saver settings/preview/resize/cleanup diagnostics passed. Both self-contained ZIPs were built from the same commit and verified for archive integrity, version and SHA256.

Refined realistic body textures for cockroaches, ants and caterpillars, with articulated six-leg walking, fine antennae and a continuous caterpillar body. Ants occasionally pause and interrupt the pause when approached. Textures are AI-generated photorealistic artwork, not documentary photographs. Both programs share this update; select Realistic in settings.
Validation
120 unit tests passed. Alpha and 100/125/150% DPI rendering checks passed. Style persistence, screen saver preview/resize and short configuration checks passed. Both ZIPs share the same source/version and passed archive integrity checks. Extracted desktop EXE passed current single-monitor overlay/click-through/single-instance checks; packaged SCR passed cross-process preview and exit checks.

A native Windows .scr screen saver with dark/light themes, autonomous insects, configurable populations, multi-monitor support and an embedded preview in Windows Screen Saver Settings.
Download the ScreenSaver ZIP from Assets, extract it, then run Configure-ScreenSaver.cmd, Preview-FullScreen.cmd, or Install-ScreenSaver.cmd. Keep the extracted folder in place. The runtime is included; no SDK or .NET installation is needed. Windows controls idle timeout and sign-in behavior. Move the mouse or press a key to exit after the startup grace period.
