The macOS plugin bundles now carry a valid code signature. All three — the
VST3, the Audio Unit and the Standalone — shipped with an invalid one in every
release up to 0.4.0: the VST3's resource seal was computed before JUCE wrote moduleinfo.json into the bundle, and the other two were never bundle-signed
at all. On Apple Silicon that is enough for a DAW to leave the plugin out of
its browser without logging anything, and for auval to refuse the Audio
Unit. Each bundle is now signed after everything that writes into it and
verified on the spot, so the build fails rather than producing a bundle it
cannot verify. auval -v aufx OaaM OaaA passes. If the plugin never
appeared in your DAW, this is why — and on macOS also strip com.apple.quarantine from a copy you downloaded, which no build can do for
you.

page now has an In a DAW section: which folder the VST3 and the Audio Unit
have to be copied into on each platform, the xattr line that a downloaded
copy needs on macOS, and the Ableton Live preference that has to be on before
Live looks in the folder at all. The page had linked to that section since the
site was first published, and the section did not exist.

OAA_CODESIGN_IDENTITY signs the macOS plugin bundles with a Developer ID
instead of ad-hoc. Releases stay ad-hoc.
Signing runs from a target that depends on the format target rather than from POST_BUILD, which is not last: a MACOSX_PACKAGE_LOCATION resource is
copied by a sibling rule that make may run after the link, and on a
from-scratch build it does. Only visible with the bundle deleted first.
