@Jorybraun Jorybraun released this 02 Oct 21:57

An early MIT-licensed phone transport for Eve agents using Twilio ConversationRelay.

The download includes compiled JavaScript, TypeScript declarations and a standalone incoming-call helpdesk starter. Your app supplies the agent, identity/access policy, tools, memory and durable call store. No Eve fork is required.

Try it

Download pipey-eve-conversation-relay-0.1.0.tgz below. Use Node 24+ and Eve 0.70.1:

npm install eve@0.70.1 /absolute/path/pipey-eve-conversation-relay-0.1.0.tgz

Follow the starter instructions for Twilio settings and hosting. This release is not yet published on npm; the @pipey scope remains proposed pending ownership verification.

Verified

  • Source build, types and 42 tests on Eve 0.70.1 and legacy0.63.0.
  • Independent npm tarball installation, starter storage tests, simulation and Eve build.
  • Compiled-server signed HTTP/WebSocket acceptance and unsigned-request rejection.
  • Recommended 0.70.1 dependency tree: no npm audit advisories at release time.
  • Code review fixed a response-size limit bypass for models emitting completed replies without streamed deltas; both new regression cases passed in the standalone library and PIPEY's local package.

Preview limitations

No live Twilio speech or model call was performed against this standalone release. Run a supervised call before wider use. A late interrupt arriving after an already-dispatched prompt can suppress that pending reply; real provider event ordering needs verification. Unmatched Eve session inputs fail closed, so use a fresh per-call address and verify agents that generate additional framework inputs. The starter is for a single persistent Node host. Reconnects, outgoing dialing, number provisioning and SMS are application responsibilities.

Eve 0.63.0 remains an explicitly tested legacy peer, but its Undici dependency has advisories. Use 0.70.1 for new projects. See RELEASING.md for the remaining provider checks.
