Replay Buffer Pro 1.7.0 changes how saves are matched to the files OBS writes, so clips are trimmed reliably on slow storage, and a save pressed while another clip is being written ends at the moment you pressed it.

Core

  • Reliable trimming on slow storage — Clips are no longer left untrimmed when OBS takes longer than 30 seconds to write the file. Each save is now matched to a file the same way OBS produces them, with no time limit on writes. (#40)
  • Clips end when you press save — A save pressed while OBS is still writing an earlier clip waits for that write, then is trimmed to end at the moment you pressed it. Time with recording paused is excluded. If your buffer holds less than the clip length before the press, the clip is shorter. (#40)
  • Dropped saves are refused up front — When the replay buffer is off or recording is paused, OBS can't save, so the save is refused and logged right away instead of waiting and claiming a later, unrelated file.
  • Saves from outside the plugin are left alone — Files saved with OBS's own Save Replay hotkey, the tray menu or obs-websocket are never mistaken for plugin clips, even if a plugin save is pressed while one is being written.
  • Clearer logs — New TRIM VERDICT reasons (encoder-paused, buffer-inactive, replay-buffer-stopped, window-not-in-buffer and others) and SAVE STATE lines explain what happened to every save.

Installation

Windows

  1. Download replay-buffer-pro-1.7.0-windows-x64.zip.
  2. Close OBS, extract the ZIP, and copy the replay-buffer-pro folder into %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\obs-studio\plugins\ (typically C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\), overwriting the existing install.

macOS

  1. Download replay-buffer-pro-1.7.0-macos-universal.pkg.
  2. Close OBS and run the installer. The plugin installs to ~/Library/Application Support/obs-studio/plugins/.
