@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Sep 08:40

Groki Bot firmware v0.2.2

Firmware for the Groki Bot desktop robot. Each board has its own build, because the PSRAM mode is fixed by the bootloader.

What's fixed in v0.2.2

  • The gateway recovers when Gemini refuses to resume a session. Gemini Live now also rejects stale sessions with "Requested entity was not found". The gateway did not recognize that message and kept retrying the dead session, so the robot could stay silent until the gateway was restarted. It now drops the saved session and starts a fresh one. As a fallback for future wording changes, it also starts fresh after three failed reconnects in a row with the same session. A short network drop still keeps the conversation context.
  • Web flasher release list. The flasher looks up each release's files by release id, so every published release shows up with its boards.

Boards

  • M5Stack CoreS3 with a Stack-chan base: firmware-v0.2.2-cores3.zip (16 MB flash, Quad PSRAM)
  • M5Stack StopWatch (C152): firmware-v0.2.2-stopwatch.zip (16 MB flash, Octal PSRAM)
  • AtomS3R + Atomic ECHO BASE: firmware-v0.2.2-atoms3r.zip (8 MB flash, Octal PSRAM), attached only if this build passed
  • AtomS3 + Atomic ECHO BASE, slim profile: firmware-v0.2.2-atoms3.zip (8 MB flash, no PSRAM), attached only if this build passed

v0.2.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Sep 08:54

Groki Bot firmware v0.2.1

Firmware for the Groki Bot desktop robot. Each board has its own build, because the PSRAM mode is fixed by the bootloader.

What's new in v0.2.1

  • Default name Groki. The built-in persona in the gateway and in the firmware is called Groki. It no longer tells the model to hide which model it runs on; asked about it, it answers truthfully.
  • "Hey Groki" wake word. The gateway's default wake word is "Hey Groki". STACKCHAN_WAKE_PHRASE=hi grok switches back to the old one, and the gateway README explains how to set your own.
  • English prompts that follow the user's language. Every rule, tool description and system notice the gateway and firmware send to the model is now in English, with an explicit rule to reply in the language the user speaks, so Chinese speakers still get Chinese answers and everyone else gets theirs.
  • ask_claude only when available. The voice tool is offered only when the claude CLI is installed; STACKCHAN_ASK_CLAUDE=0 turns it off and STACKCHAN_CLAUDE_MODEL picks the model.
  • Bilingual settings page. The Bluetooth settings page is in English and Chinese, chosen from the browser language, with an EN / 中文 switch.
  • Gemini 3.8 Live in the gateway. The gateway's default Gemini Live model is gemini-3.8-live.
  • Fixes: a personality file is appended to the prompt once instead of twice; documentation examples use neutral names.
