MK3D Online 0.1.10: less input delay, Shujinko's moves, games ready after updates

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 28 Oct 01:18

MK3D Online 0.1.10

Everyone needs 0.1.10 to play online. The launcher offers it by itself: press UPDATE NOW.

Less input delay

  • The games kept up to three finished frames waiting for your monitor. Now they keep one, so what you press shows on screen up to two frames sooner, online and offline, in all three games.
  • Online input delay is now 1 frame by default (it was 2): rollback covers the rest of the ping. If you changed it yourself in Settings → Online, your setting stays. A match uses the higher setting of the two players.

Shujinko's moves in Deception

Shujinko learns most of his special moves and both fatalities in Konquest, so online he was missing them. Online matches and practice now give him every move. Arcade and Konquest still go by your profile, as before.

Brightness

New: Settings → Display → Brightness. 100 % is the picture as the game draws it; turn it up if the games look too dark on your screen. It lifts the dark tones; blacks and whites stay as they are.

Updates prepare the games by themselves

After an update, you no longer have to start each game in single player and press Start before playing online. The launcher prepares every game you have built for the new version right away, one after the other, each in its own small window (seconds to a minute or two). A game can be played once its turn is done; the launcher shows when.

MATCH FOUND stays in front

When a match was found the moment you started searching, the game's window opened over the MATCH FOUND window, so it flashed and was gone before you could accept. It now stays on top and comes back in front, and you have 20 seconds to accept (it was 15).

"A different release of the game"

Each game here is built from one release of its disc only: Mortal Kombat: Deception (USA), Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (USA) and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (USA) (Rev 1). Another release (for Deadly Alliance, the first USA print, or a PAL or Japanese copy) has its code laid out differently and crashes. The launcher used to warn and let you go on anyway. Now it tells you which release your disc is and which one you need, and won't extract or start the wrong one. If you saw "assets is a different release of the game", extract a disc image of the listed release in Build game.

Antivirus false alarms

Windows Security sometimes flags a game's files after an update, most often MKD.dll, MKA.dll or MKDA.dll: the game code your own PC builds from your disc, which no antivirus has seen before. It is a false alarm. If it happens, open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history, pick the entry and choose Actions → Restore (or Allow on device), then start the game again. A game whose code was blocked now says so instead of just closing.

Updating

  • From 0.1.7, 0.1.8 or 0.1.9: when the update window comes up, press UPDATE NOW (or UPDATE TO 0.1.10 in the launcher's footer). It waits until your match is over and you close any game you are playing, puts 0.1.10 in place and starts again. Then it prepares your games by itself.
  • From 0.1.6 or older: close the launcher and the game, open the zip, open the MK3D-Online folder inside it, select everything, and drag it into the folder that holds your MK3DLauncher.exe. Choose Replace the files in the destination. From then on, updates come through the launcher.

MK3D Online 0.1.9: Deadly Alliance full screen again, lobby Ready with a controller, desync fix

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 27 Oct 23:45

MK3D Online 0.1.9

Everyone needs 0.1.9 to play online. The launcher offers it by itself: press UPDATE NOW.

Fixed: Deadly Alliance fills your screen again

0.1.8 showed Deadly Alliance in its original 4:3 shape with black bars at the sides, which looked like the game was stuck in a box. It is stretched to fill a widescreen monitor again, as before. If you prefer the original shape, untick Settings → Display → Stretch Deadly Alliance to fill the screen. The fix for the blue lines around letters stays.

Fixed: Deadly Alliance matches ending in a desync

Some Deadly Alliance matches (on certain arenas, more often on slower PCs or with practice running) ended about a second and a half in with a desync and no result. The arena's background objects drew random numbers at slightly different times on the two PCs; they no longer affect the match. Deception got the same safeguard.

Lobbies with a controller

  • After every lobby match the launcher comes back in front on the Lobby page with Ready highlighted: press A to ready up for the next match.
  • START anywhere on the Lobby page also presses Ready.

Updating

  • From 0.1.7 or 0.1.8: when the update window comes up, press UPDATE NOW (or UPDATE TO 0.1.9 in the launcher's footer). It waits until your match is over and you close any game you are playing, then puts 0.1.9 in place and starts again.
  • From 0.1.6 or older: close the launcher and the game, open the zip, open the MK3D-Online folder inside it, select everything, and drag it into the folder that holds your MK3DLauncher.exe. Choose Replace the files in the destination. From then on, updates come through the launcher.

Each game prepares its code for the new version on its next start (a minute or two), then press Start.

MK3D Online 0.1.8: everything unlocked online, lobby fixes, connection icons, Hide my IP

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 27 Oct 21:46

MK3D Online 0.1.8

Everyone needs 0.1.8 to play online. If you have 0.1.7, the launcher offers it by itself: press UPDATE NOW.

New: everything unlocked online

Every online match (Kasual, Ranked and lobbies) now has every fighter, alternate costume and arena open, whatever your own profile has unlocked:

  • Arenas: a match can be fought in any arena, the ones you would have to unlock in the Krypt included.
  • Alternate costumes: hold START as you confirm your fighter on the select screen; your opponent's game shows the costume too. (Armageddon's kreated fighters stay out of online matches: your opponent's game has no copy of yours.)
  • Practice (its own PRACTICE button, and practice while you wait) has every costume and arena open as well, not only every fighter.

Your profile's own unlocks stay as they are: single player is unchanged.

New: lobby hosts can switch death traps

A lobby's host can now turn its death traps on or off between matches with the Death traps box under the lobby's name (Deception and Armageddon); both players then press Ready again. The Death traps box in the Create lobby window also works now: in 0.1.7 a new lobby always started with death traps on, whatever it said.

Fixed: Deadly Alliance's text and widescreen picture

  • Thin blue lines and boxes no longer show around letters in Deadly Alliance's menus, select screen and fights. They came from the edges of the game's font sheet and appeared at many window sizes, 1080p and 4K included.
  • On a widescreen monitor Deadly Alliance is now shown in its own 4:3 shape with black bars at the sides, instead of stretched a third wider (the game has no widescreen mode). Deception and Armageddon stay widescreen.

Fixed: thrown out of lobbies mid-match

  • The launcher no longer reacts to your controller while a match is played or watched. When its window stayed in front behind the game, what you pressed in a fight could wander through the launcher and land on Sign out: you were signed out, asked for your password again, and the lobby page still showed the lobby you had been taken out of. Sign out is also off during a match now.
  • If your connection to the server drops, the launcher signs back in by itself and you get your place in the lobby back (within a minute).

Your IP address

  • Your address, and your opponent's, is never shown in the launcher or written to its logs or the games' logs any more.
  • Each game now only listens to its own match's opponent (or the server): nobody else can send it anything.
  • New in Settings: Hide my IP address from opponents. Your matches then go through the server, so nobody you play learns your address. It costs ping the farther you and your opponent are from the server (in Virginia, USA): little on the US east coast, a lot for two players far from it. Without it, matches connect straight between the two PCs as before (lowest ping).

New: see your opponent's connection

  • MATCH FOUND now shows your opponent's connection before you accept: the Wi-Fi symbol (in orange) or green bars for a wired (Ethernet) connection, and their ping (to the server, or between the two of you when it is known). Ranked shows it too, without who it is.
  • Lobbies show every member's connection the same way, in a new Connection column.

Matchmaking

  • Max ping raises itself when nobody is found: after 30 seconds of searching by 25 ms, then again every 15 seconds, up to 250 ms. The page tells you when it did. Strict ranked matchmaking keeps your Max ping as it is.
  • A search that would go through the server is no longer offered a match its Max ping would then cancel.
  • Can't find each other? Kasual and Ranked are separate searches, and so are Kasual with death traps on and off. Max ping (Settings, 150 ms unless you change it) also keeps out anyone whose connection to you would be slower: two players far apart (Europe and South America, say) only meet with a higher Max ping or none.

Updating

  • From 0.1.7: when the update window comes up, press UPDATE NOW (or UPDATE TO 0.1.8 in the launcher's footer). It waits until your match is over and you close any game you are playing, then puts 0.1.8 in place and starts again.
  • From 0.1.6 or older: close the launcher and the game, open the zip, open the MK3D-Online folder inside it, select everything, and drag it into the folder that holds your MK3DLauncher.exe. Choose Replace the files in the destination. From then on, updates come through the launcher.

Either way, each game prepares its code for the new version on its next start (a minute or two), then press Start.

MK3D Online 0.1.7: updates from the launcher, watch lobby matches, practice with every fighter

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 27 Oct 16:37

MK3D Online 0.1.7

Everyone needs 0.1.7 to play online. The server asks older launchers to update.

New: updates from the launcher

This is the last version you install by hand. From now on, when a new version is out, the launcher says so in a window, with what is new: press UPDATE NOW and it downloads the release, checks that it is exactly the one published, puts it in place and starts again. It waits until your match is over and you close any game you are playing. Your settings, saves, disc images and built games stay. LATER leaves an UPDATE button in the launcher's footer.

New: watch lobby matches

Up to eight people can watch a lobby's matches in their own game. Select a lobby and press Watch selected (or press Watch once you are in one). Every match the host starts then plays in your game a moment behind the players: the select screen, the fight and its ending. Join while a match is already on and your game catches up from its start, fast. Press Play to take a free place to play between matches. Spectators can chat in the lobby; their controllers do nothing to the match.

New: death traps on or off

The arenas' death traps (the Dead Pool's acid, the Lower Mines' spikes and the others, in Deception and Armageddon) can be turned off:

  • Kasual: the Death traps box under Matchmaking. You only meet players who made the same choice: untick it and every Kasual opponent has death traps off too.
  • Ranked: never. Death traps are always off in ranked matches.
  • Lobbies: the host chooses when creating the lobby.

Fixed: music stopping and starting over

In all three games the music went silent for up to two seconds a few seconds into every track, then started over from the beginning: in the menus, on character select, on the arcade tower, and in fights while the announcer spoke. Single player and online alike. Every track now plays straight through.

Changed: closing your game ends the match

Closing your game during a match (Alt+F4, or it crashes) now ends the match for both players straight away:

  • Kasual: the series ends there, with no REMATCH / SELECT prompt.
  • Ranked: closing your game loses you the set, whatever the score, so quitting never saves you from a loss.
  • Your opponent: their game no longer freezes for 15 seconds waiting for you. It goes straight back to its menu.

If the connection between the two games breaks instead, the match doesn't count and the series ends.

Fixed: both players' games now use the same options

Online matches now always use the game's default round time and blood level, so both players play exactly the same fight. Before, each game used its own profile's options when the match was set up: two players with different saved options could have played two different fights.

Fixed: the other player's stick moving your fighter

In Deception and Armageddon, when your opponent played on the left side with an analog stick, the directions of their stick were also added to your input: your fighter walked and crouched along with theirs. This was in every version so far (Deadly Alliance never had it). Now each player's directions come from their own controller only, and a left-side stick player's directions also arrive a few frames sooner.

New: practice, every fighter unlocked

  • PRACTICE, beside PLAY on the Single player page, takes the game straight to practice's character select: pick your fighter, then the dummy, with your controller, and train. One controller is enough: no more waiting for "player 2's controller".
  • Practice while you wait: search for a match (Ranked or Kasual) and the game opens the same practice by itself. When a match is found its ACCEPT window comes up over practice; accept, and the match starts at once (the online game was already loaded and waiting). After the match, you are back in practice. Untick Practice while you wait under Matchmaking to wait at the game's menu instead.

Every fighter is unlocked in practice, in all three games. What your own profile has unlocked stays as it is.

New: the launcher works with a controller

The MATCH FOUND and rematch windows, and the launcher's pages, work with an Xbox or PlayStation controller or a fight stick:

  • The d-pad or stick moves the gold highlight, and A (Cross) presses.
  • LB / RB switch pages, and START finds a match.
  • B never declines a match.
  • Buttons you are still holding in the game when a window comes up are ignored until you let go, so mashing cannot accept or decline anything by accident.

Typing (sign in, lobby names, chat) still needs the keyboard.

Changed

  • The Controls page names each button by what it does in the game: Attack 1 (X), Attack 2 (Y), Attack 3 (A), Attack 4 (B), Block (Right trigger), Stance change (Left trigger), Throw (Black button) (Throw / special in Deadly Alliance), Jump, Crouch and Pause, in that order, so setting up your keys and controller is easier.
  • The Build page's Open game folder button is gone: browse for your disc image with Browse... instead.

Updating

  1. Close the launcher and the game. Open the zip, open the MK3D-Online folder inside it, select everything, and drag it into the folder that holds your MK3DLauncher.exe. Choose Replace the files in the destination.
  2. Open Single player and press PLAY once for each game you built. It prepares its code for the new version (a minute or two, only once), then press Start.

Both players need the same version: VERSION.txt lists the programs' fingerprints to compare.

MK3D Online 0.1.6: play while you wait, no window switching, steady sound

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 27 Oct 01:10

MK3D Online 0.1.6

Everyone needs 0.1.6 to play online. The server asks older launchers to update.

No more switching windows

  • When a match is found, the MATCH FOUND window comes up over the game. Once you accept, you are back in the game by itself.
  • After a Kasual match, the rematch window comes up over the game once the game has played its ending (the finisher, the fatality and the winner's pose stay uncovered): REMATCH (the same fighters again), SELECT (both pick again) or LEAVE. When the next match starts, you are back in the game. You now have 60 seconds from the end of the match to choose.

New: play while you wait

Search for a match and play single player meanwhile (arcade, practice, anything), in either order. When a match is found, its ACCEPT window comes up over your game. Accept it and your single-player game is set aside, frozen exactly where it is, while the online game takes you into the match. When the match is over (with its rematches, or the whole ranked set), you are back in your single-player game right where you left it.

Fixed: music cutting in and out online

During online matches the sound only had a frame or two of room, so every frame that came a little late cut it off, most of all at the start of a fight while the announcer speaks. The sound now keeps a small cushion and smooths those moments out. On a high ping connection the first second or two of a fight can still stutter while both games finish loading.

Also fixed

  • Closing the launcher while a single-player game was open could make the launcher crash as it closed (the game itself closed normally).

Updating

  1. Close the launcher and the game. Open the zip, open the MK3D-Online folder inside it, select everything, and drag it into the folder that holds your MK3DLauncher.exe. Choose Replace the files in the destination.
  2. Open Single player and press PLAY once for each game you built. It prepares its code for the new version (under a minute, only once).

MK3D Online 0.1.5: Kasual rematches, ranked sets, every controller

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 26 Oct 22:45

MK3D Online 0.1.5

Everyone needs 0.1.5 to play online. The server asks older launchers to update.

Fixed: Finish Him

Once a match's deciding round was won, both players' controllers stopped working, so nobody could move during "Finish Him", the fatality and the winner's pose, and the game finished on its own. The controllers now keep working until the match's ending is over. This was in all three games.

Controllers

  • Fixed: fight sticks in Xbox 360 mode. Some controllers in Xbox 360 mode, fight sticks especially (a PDP MK X Fight Stick, for one), did nothing in any of the three games: Windows did not count them as gamepads. Every Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series controller, and every stick or pad in its Xbox mode, now works, as PlayStation and Switch controllers already did.
  • New: the analog stick moves your fighter in Deadly Alliance. On the console Deadly Alliance only took the d-pad, so a controller's stick did nothing there. Its left stick now moves like the d-pad, as it already did in Deception and Armageddon.
  • Online, one controller plays for you: with several plugged in, unplug the ones you don't use. A stick that drifts (reads as pushed while you don't touch it) can walk or crouch your fighter by itself.

Other fixes

  • Deadly Alliance: matches on some arenas broke off right at the start with a desync, because the two games counted the arena's loading differently.
  • Armageddon: pressing X while picking your fighter opened a panel that blocked the pick, so the match never started. X is now held back there, as B already was.
  • The launcher could give up on a match while the players were still picking their fighters in the game. It now waits long enough.

New: Kasual rematches

Casual is now Kasual. After a Kasual match the launcher shows you against your opponent with the score between you, and two ways to play on within 30 seconds, with the same sides and without searching again:

  • REMATCH: when you both press it, the same fighters fight again, straight from the start.
  • SELECT: when either of you presses it, you both go back to character select and pick again.

LEAVE (or Find match) ends it.

New: Ranked sets

Ranked is now played in sets against one opponent: the first to win 2 matches takes the set, and your Elo changes once, when the set ends. The set's next match starts by itself once both games are ready.

Leaving a set after one of its matches has counted loses it, whatever the score: pressing LEAVE SET, searching again, quitting, or not being back within 90 seconds. Winning one match and leaving gains nothing. A set left before any match of it counted (the first match broke off) ends without an Elo change.

Your record

The Kasual and Ranked pages show your wins and losses for the selected game and mode, and your Elo in Ranked. During a rematch or a set, the score against your current opponent is shown too.

Help with bug reports

Each online match now leaves a log of every frame's inputs in the launcher's sessions folder, and the game notes when its window loses focus during a match. If a match plays wrong (controls that stick, for example), send mk3d-launcher.log and the newest folders in sessions along with which match it was.

Tip: if you play on the keyboard, click into the game window after accepting a match. The keyboard only reaches the window in front (controllers work either way).

Updating

  1. Unzip this version over your MK3D-Online folder and let it replace the files. The games you extracted and your saves stay.
  2. Open Single player and press PLAY once for each game you built. It prepares its code for the new version (under a minute, only once). When it says the game is ready, choose Exit (Esc or B), or Start to play.

Both players need the same version: VERSION.txt lists the programs' fingerprints to compare.

New to MK3D Online

Native Windows versions of the original Xbox Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, with online play over rollback netcode. It has Kasual matches with rematches, ranked sets, lobbies, the side modes (Chess Kombat, Puzzle Kombat, Motor Kombat) and each game's own single player.

No game is included. Each player builds each game once, on their own PC, from their own disc image. The launcher does that for you.

What you need:

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and a graphics card with Direct3D 12
  • Your own disc image of any of these releases, as an XISO (often named .xiso.iso) or a whole-disc dump:
    • Mortal Kombat: Deception (USA)
    • Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (USA)
    • Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (USA) (Rev 1)
  • About 6 GB of free space per game
  • On Windows 11, Smart App Control turned off (Windows Security, App & browser control, Smart App Control settings)

How to play:

  1. Download MK3D-Online-0.1.5-windows.zip below and unzip it into a folder you can write to, such as Documents\MK3D-Online.
  2. Start MK3DLauncher.exe. Windows may warn about an unknown publisher: choose More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Create your account in the window that opens (a name and a password).
  4. Open Build game, choose the game at the top, browse to your disc image and press EXTRACT AND BUILD (a few minutes, once per game).
  5. Play: Kasual, Ranked, a Lobby (one player creates it and gives the other the 5-letter code), or Single player.

The launcher connects to the official server and to your opponent by itself. The full guide is READ ME FIRST.txt in the zip.

Good to know

  • If the launcher says "This is not an Xbox disc image", that .iso is a broken or padded conversion. Use the .xiso.iso version of the disc.
  • This is still a test build: please report how matches across the internet go.
  • Windows Firewall may ask about the launcher and the games. Allow them, or online matches cannot connect.

MK3D Online 0.1.4: pick your fighter in the game, fireball crash fixed

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 26 Oct 18:21

MK3D Online 0.1.4

Everyone needs 0.1.4 to play online. The server now asks older launchers to update.

Fixed: the crash from Shang Tsung's fireball

Deadly Alliance crashed when Shang Tsung threw a fireball. Some short-lived game effects end in a way the games did not handle. Deception and Armageddon had the same weak spot, so all three games are fixed. After the fix, every character in all three games was tested, and the offline modes were played through: arcade, versus, practice, Konquest, the Krypt and the side modes. Deception can now load the profiles it saved.

New: pick your fighter in the game

Online, you can now choose your fighter on the game's own character select screen, as on the console. This is on by default. When the match starts, the game opens on the select screen and you move your side's cursor with your own controller or keyboard. Your opponent does the same on their PC, and you see their pick once they make it. B and Back do nothing on this screen, because they would leave the match.

To pick in the launcher as before:

  • Casual and Ranked: untick Pick my fighter on the game's own select screen.
  • Lobby: choose a fighter instead of Pick in the game.

New: a warning about Smart App Control

On some Windows 11 PCs the games would not start: "An Application Control policy has blocked this file". This is Windows' Smart App Control. It runs only programs signed by a publisher it knows, and it has no exception list. The games can never be signed, because every PC builds its own copy of the game's code from its own disc.

The launcher now warns at startup when Smart App Control is on and can open Windows Security for you. To play, turn it off under App & browser control → Smart App Control settings. On some versions of Windows 11 it can only be turned back on by resetting Windows, so that choice is yours.

Updating

  1. Unzip this version over your MK3D-Online folder and let it replace the files. The games you extracted and your saves stay.

MK3D Online 0.1.3: online matches fixed, full match endings, Single player

Choose a tag to compare

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 26 Oct 03:19

MK3D Online 0.1.3

Fixed: online matches

Online matches did not start between two PCs: after the character picks, the game stopped with "Controller disconnected" for controller port 2, and the launcher gave up after 60 seconds. The games now keep player 2's controller connected in launcher matches (online, that is the other player). Our tests had always run with a second controller connected, which hid the problem. Everyone needs 0.1.3 to play online.

Fixed: the end of a match

The game went back to its menu the moment the deciding round was won, cutting off "Finish Him", fatalities and the winner's pose. Now the whole ending plays out on both screens first; the result still counts the moment the round is won.

New: Single player

The Practice page is now Single player. PLAY starts the whole game with its own menus, as on the console: arcade, the game's own practice mode and its other modes. What you unlock and set is saved in the game's folder. Online matches wait while it is open.

Also in this version, from 0.1.1 and 0.1.2: the Controls page, display settings the games use, and the account window on first start.

Updating

  1. Unzip this version over your MK3D-Online folder and let it replace the files. The games you extracted and your saves stay.
  2. Open Single player and press PLAY once for each game you built: it prepares its code for the new version (under a minute, only once). When it says the game is ready, choose Exit (Esc or B), or Start to play.

Both players need the same version: VERSION.txt lists the programs' fingerprints to compare.

New to MK3D Online

Native Windows versions of the original Xbox Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, with online play using rollback netcode: casual and ranked matchmaking, lobbies, and the side modes (Chess Kombat, Puzzle Kombat, Motor Kombat), plus each game's own single player.

No game is included. Each player builds each game once, on their own PC, from their own disc image; the launcher does that for you.

How to play:

  1. Download MK3D-Online-0.1.3-windows.zip below and unzip it into a folder you can write to, such as Documents\MK3D-Online.
  5. Play: Casual, Ranked, a Lobby (one player creates it and gives the other the 5-letter code), or Single player.

The launcher connects to the official server by itself and connects players to each other automatically. The full guide is READ ME FIRST.txt in the zip.

Good to know

  • If the launcher says "This is not an Xbox disc image", that .iso is a broken or padded conversion: use the .xiso.iso version of the disc.
  • This is still a test build: please report how matches across the internet go.
  • Windows Firewall may ask about the launcher and the games: allow them, or online matches cannot connect.

MK3D Online 0.1.2: the launcher asks for your account

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 26 Oct 01:34

MK3D Online 0.1.2

New

  • The launcher asks for your account by itself. The first time it connects on a PC that has never signed in, the create-account window opens on its own. If you close it, SIGN IN at the top right opens it again. Before, nothing asked, and new players had to find that button.
  • After you sign in, "Sign in to search for matches." no longer stays under FIND MATCH.

Also in this version, from 0.1.1: the Controls page (change your keys and controller buttons; works in online matches) and display settings the games really use (borderless, fullscreen or a window, the resolution, v-sync).

Updating

  • From 0.1.1: unzip this version over your MK3D-Online folder and let it replace the files. Only the launcher changed: the games are the same as in 0.1.1, so nothing rebuilds, and you can still play people on 0.1.1.
  • From 0.1.0: unzip over your old folder the same way, then start each game once from Practice before playing online: it prepares its code for the new version (under a minute, only once).

MK3D Online 0.1.1: Controls page, working display settings

@Jstackzz Jstackzz released this 26 Oct 01:14

MK3D Online 0.1.1

New

  • Controls page in the launcher. Change which keys press each button (two keys each at most) and what each button of your controller presses: Xbox, PlayStation and Switch controllers, back paddles included. A game that is running picks up a change within a second, and it works the same in online matches, because it only changes what your own keys and buttons press. In Armageddon this is the way to change your buttons online: that game plays online matches with its default button layout.
  • Display settings work now. Settings → Display (borderless, fullscreen or a window, the resolution, v-sync) is what the games use when they start. The default stays borderless at your monitor's own resolution.

Updating from 0.1.0

  1. Unzip this version over your old MK3D-Online folder and let it replace the files. The games you already extracted stay.
  2. Start each game once from Practice before playing online: it prepares its code again for the new version (under a minute, only once).

Both players need the same version: VERSION.txt lists the programs' fingerprints to compare.
