Release list
2.1.0-Beta
Udeos Launcher is a small program to install and play Minecraft on Windows,
macOS and Linux. You do not need a Microsoft account. Pick a name, pick a
version, press Play.
If something breaks, please
open an issue and say
what you did.
What is new
- Make your skin on the 3D player. The skin editor now shows a big player
you paint on directly. Scroll to zoom in close, right-drag to turn it, and
hold Shift while dragging to move it. Hide the head, arms or legs to paint
the parts behind them. There is a colour palette with Minecraft's colours
and skin tones, and a pixel grid when you zoom in. - Delete is easier to find. Instances and servers now have a Delete
button right next to Edit. It still asks before deleting anything.
Fixed
- Ask AI no longer shows a blank window. Sometimes the first question
left the launcher empty until you restarted it. The answer now shows up as
it should.
Good to know
- Online servers. Servers that check for a Microsoft account will not let
you in. Single player works, and so do servers set to "offline mode". - The installers are not signed yet. Windows and macOS show a warning the
first time you open the launcher. The table below says how to get past it.

2.0.0-Beta
Udeos Launcher is a small program to install and play Minecraft on Windows,
macOS and Linux. You do not need a Microsoft account. Pick a name, pick a
version, press Play.
This is a new major version. If something breaks, please
open an issue and say
what you did.
What is new
- A calmer first start. The welcome screen asks one thing at a time:
your name, then the language, then the look. Use Next and Back to move
around. - Easier to choose a look. Dark, Light and Custom are listed with a
short explanation. With Custom you pick light or dark and your own colour.
Good to know
- Online servers. Servers that check for a Microsoft account will not let
you in. Single player works, and so do servers set to "offline mode". - The installers are not signed yet. Windows and macOS show a warning the
first time you open the launcher. The table below says how to get past it.

Udeos Launcher 1.3.1 Beta
Udeos Launcher is a small program to install and play Minecraft on Windows,
macOS and Linux. You do not need a Microsoft account. Pick a name, pick a
version, press Play.
This is a small update with two fixes. If something breaks, please
open an issue and say
what you did.
What is new
- Dropping files works on Windows. Dragging a mod, a world, a datapack or
a skin onto the launcher did nothing on Windows. It works now. - Steadier layout in small windows. The tabs of an instance or a server
stay on one row, the side panels and cards keep their size, and only the
lists of cards scroll. The skin editor fits the window too.
Good to know
- Online servers. Servers that check for a Microsoft account will not let
you in. Single player works, and so do servers set to "offline mode". - The installers are not signed yet. Windows and macOS show a warning the
first time you open the launcher. The table below says how to get past it.

Udeos Launcher 1.3.0 Beta
Udeos Launcher is a small program to install and play Minecraft on Windows,
macOS and Linux. You do not need a Microsoft account. Pick a name, pick a
version, press Play.
This version also publishes everything that was meant for 1.2.1, which never
came out. If something breaks, please
open an issue and say
what you did.
What is new
- Old versions open on Windows. Minecraft 1.8.9 and other old versions
could close right after pressing Play. They start now. - Update from the launcher works on Windows. Windows asks for permission
and the installer runs. - New look. Dark is now diamond blue, Light is white, and Custom lets
you pick your own colours. Each profile keeps its own. - Ask AI is a page. Tell it what you want to play and it suggests mods,
with the reason, ready to add. - Create in two clicks. New instance and new server fit one screen with
everything filled in. Press Create and play. - Activity button. Downloads and launches show in a button on the top bar
instead of floating over the page. - Servers from a modpack. Make a server from a Modrinth modpack.
- Join file for friends. Save a small file from your server page. Your
friends open it and get the same Minecraft version, loader and mods. - Datapacks. Search them and add them to a world of your instance or server.
- Smoother scrolling on long lists, and a steadier top bar.
- Fixes for servers. A new server shows up right away, and one that is
still starting can be stopped.
Updating on Windows
If your launcher is 1.2.0 or older, Update can still fail once. Download
the Windows installer from the table below and run it. It installs over your
current launcher and keeps your instances, profiles and skins.
Good to know
- Online servers. Servers that check for a Microsoft account will not let
you in. Single player works, and so do servers set to "offline mode". - The installers are not signed yet. Windows and macOS show a warning the
first time you open the launcher. The table below says how to get past it.

Udeos Launcher 1.2.0 Beta
Udeos Launcher is a small program to install and play Minecraft on Windows,
macOS and Linux. You do not need a Microsoft account. Pick a name, pick a
version, press Play.
This is the fourth beta. It works, but it is still young: if something
breaks, please
open an issue and say
what you did.
What's new
Each profile is its own. Every profile now keeps its own skins,
language and theme, just like it already kept its own instances. Switch
profile and everything comes back the way that player left it. A new
profile starts with no skins. If you remove a profile, its skins move to
the one that stays. Skins you saved before this update go to the profile
that was wearing them.
Play right after creating. New Instance has a Play as soon as it is
installed box, ticked by default. Press Create and the game downloads
and opens without another click. Untick it if you only want to create the
instance.
Drop skins anywhere. On the Skins page you can drop a skin file
anywhere in the window, not just on the small box.
Fixes
- Old versions open on Windows again. Versions 1.12 and older (like
1.8.9) started but never showed their window. They open normally now. - Dropping a file outside a drop zone does nothing now. Before, it could
replace the launcher with the file. - On an addon's page, the side panel with versions and your instances
scrolls on its own, so a long list no longer drags the whole page.
Still to come
- Optimization. Not done yet: some screens can feel slow, and the
launcher can use more memory and CPU than it should. This is the next
thing we are working on.
Good to know
- Online servers. Servers that check for a Microsoft account will not let
you in. Single player works, and so do servers set to "offline mode". - AI answers can be wrong. The AI only picks from what Modrinth really
has, and Add still checks that everything fits your instance, but its
picks and reasons are suggestions. - The installers are not signed yet. Windows and macOS show a warning the
first time you open the launcher. The table below says how to get past it.

Udeos Launcher 1.1.0 Beta
Udeos Launcher is a small program to install and play Minecraft on Windows,
macOS and Linux. You do not need a Microsoft account. Pick a name, pick a
version, press Play.
This is the third beta. It works, but it is still young: if something
breaks, please
open an issue and say
what you did.
What's new
Ask AI for addons. On the Addons page, press Ask AI and write what
you want: "performance mods for fabric 1.20.1", "a skyblock modpack",
"medieval textures". The AI searches Modrinth and shows you its best picks
right in the chat, each with a short reason why it fits and its own Add
and Details buttons. Ask again to narrow it down ("only forge", "newer
ones"), or press See all to get the full list on the page. You can also
ask from an instance's Mods, Resource Packs and Shaders tabs, and the picks
will fit that instance.
Free, nothing to set up. Ask AI works right away. If you have your own
API key from Groq, Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or Grok, you can use it instead
(the list shows which models come with a free plan). Your key stays on your
computer.
Update from inside the launcher. When a new version is out, the
launcher tells you on start. Press Update and it downloads and installs
the right file for your system. Later asks again next time.
Slow first starts say so. The first time you play a Minecraft version,
the launcher downloads the whole game. The loading window now says so with
a gold First install note, so you know it is working and not frozen.
The same goes for a server's first start.
Smoother look. Search results and your instances slide in when they
appear, and searches show placeholder cards while they load. Text boxes
have a clear border that lights up when you click into them. Adding a mod
shows a small, quiet loader instead of a big loading box.
If it is busy, try again in a minute or
use your own key. - The installers are not signed yet. Windows and macOS show a warning the
first time you open the launcher. The table below says how to get past it.
