Install

Windows installer

  1. Run Whisper-Windows-Setup-x64-v0.3.15.exe.
  2. Keep the default location, or select Browse to choose another folder.
  3. Complete setup. Whisper creates desktop and Start menu shortcuts and offers to launch the game.

macOS

  1. Download the DMG for your Mac processor and open it.
  2. Drag Whisper.app to the Applications shortcut, then eject the DMG.
  3. This beta is unsigned and not notarized. macOS may block the first launch; Control-click the app, choose Open, then confirm.

The DMGs were built on a native macOS GitHub Actions runner. Their archives, application layout, update metadata, and Intel/Apple-silicon executable architectures were verified after download. They have not yet been launched interactively on physical Mac hardware. Signing and notarization still require Apple Developer credentials.

Debian or Ubuntu

  1. Download Whisper-Linux-amd64-v0.3.15.deb.
  2. Open it with your software installer, or run sudo apt install ./Whisper-Linux-amd64-v0.3.15.deb.
  3. Launch Whisper from the applications menu.

Other x86_64 Linux distributions

  1. Download the AppImage.
  2. Make it executable: chmod +x Whisper-Linux-x86_64-v0.3.15.AppImage
  3. Run it: ./Whisper-Linux-x86_64-v0.3.15.AppImage

Desktop updates

The refreshed v0.3.15 Windows installer, macOS packages, Linux AppImage, and Linux DEB contain the desktop updater. They check this public release feed after startup. When a future version is available, Whisper downloads it in the background and asks whether to restart and install it. Choosing Later installs the downloaded update when Whisper closes.

  • Update metadata and blockmaps are attached to this release.
  • Existing packages released before this refresh do not contain the updater and must be replaced manually once.
  • macOS automatic updates require a properly signed app. They will remain blocked until Apple Developer signing and notarization are configured.
  • Windows signing is strongly recommended before broad distribution to improve trust and update safety.
