WHISPER Desktop Beta v0.4.0

WHISPER v0.4.0 is the first fully versioned desktop update after v0.3.15.

Highlights

• Adds the in-app desktop updater to the versioned release path.
• Includes the latest gameplay, multiplayer, tutorial, audio, HUD, recorder, inventory, results-screen, mobile-layout, and monster-navigation improvements.
• Improves jumpscare coverage and prevents resource bars from overlapping their labels.
• Refreshes the Cursed Recorder world art, hotbar presentation, Field Kit drawer, and match-result actions.

Important upgrade note

Some early Windows v0.3.15 and portable builds were published before updater support existed. Those installations require this one manual upgrade to v0.4.0. Afterward, Windows Setup installations can receive future updates in-app.

• Windows: NSIS Setup, x64. Background updating is enabled.
• macOS: DMG and ZIP for Intel and Apple silicon. These beta builds are unsigned; automatic updates are not supported until code signing is added.
• Linux: DEB for Debian/Ubuntu and AppImage for x86_64. AppImage supports the configured update feed; DEB upgrades remain manual.
