Release list
Harpoon 0.6.0
- A failed install or update opens a page that says what went wrong and
what to try, with Try again. - The page shows a report to send to whoever can fix the problem:
versions, phone, the app and its package, the step that failed and the
exact error. Copy it, or open a GitHub issue with it filled in. When
the app's package looks wrong, the page leads to its developer. - Until an install succeeds, the list and the app's page show that it
failed and lead back to the report.
Installing
Pick the package for your SailfishOS version and phone:
| SailfishOS | Phone | Package |
|---|---|---|
| 5.1 or later | 64-bit ARM (Xperia 10 II and newer, most current phones) | *.sfos5.1.aarch64.rpm |
| 5.1 or later | 32-bit ARM | *.sfos5.1.armv7hl.rpm |
| 5.1 or later | Intel tablets, emulator | *.sfos5.1.i486.rpm |
| 5.0 | same as above | *.sfos5.0.<arch>.rpm |
See the README for step-by-step instructions.
The packages are signed with a GitHub build attestation; SHA256SUMS lists their checksums.
Harpoon 0.5.0
- Harpoon puts itself on the list on first start, so it keeps itself up
to date. If you stop tracking it, it is not added again. - An app's address can be changed in its settings, for example when its
repository moves to another forge. Harpoon checks the new address first
and keeps the app's settings, name and installed version. - App settings are also in the list's long-press menu.
- The cover no longer says "No apps tracked" while apps are tracked.

Harpoon 0.4.2
- The three layers of the animated sea each drift at their own, slower
pace, so the waves have depth without drawing the eye. - The "No builds yet" notice on an app's page no longer touches the waves.

Harpoon 0.4.1
- Apps whose repository has no builds yet can be added: Harpoon shows
them as waiting for builds, explains why, and offers them as soon as
the developer publishes a release with packages. - Clearer errors: a Codeberg/Forgejo repository with Releases turned off
is no longer reported as "Repository not found"; the message says what
is wrong, links the developer's website and tells developers how to fix
it. "No releases" and "no package for this phone" explain the fix too.

Harpoon 0.4.0
- The app list looks finished with only a few apps: a status header that
says where things stand ("All caught up", "2 updates ready"), when apps
were last checked, an "Add another app" row, a tip card, and the sea
along the bottom. - Adding an app: one-tap github.com, codeberg.org and codefloe.com
shortcuts, and "Paste link" when a link is on the clipboard. - A failed add brings the form back as it was, with the error, so a typo
is fixed instead of retyped; "Add it anyway" adds an app that has no
release yet.

Harpoon 0.3.0
- A fresh look: artwork of a harpoon over the sea in the colours of your
ambience, a bobbing harpoon when the list is empty, an "updates ready"
band that installs everything with one tap, status icons on the list,
a hero header on each app's page with "What's new" first, and a new
About page. - Settings pages are tidied: icons on the main switches and one aligned
style for all explanations. - The QR scanner's camera preview is no longer turned sideways.

Harpoon 0.2.0
- Release notes are shown formatted, with working links; the app page
shows the app's icon and download size; app settings show the
essentials first, with the rest behind "Show advanced settings". - Build provenance: Sigstore bundles logged to Rekor v2 (with RFC 3161
timestamps) are verified on the phone, and an app can require that its
builds were signed by a given workflow or from given branches or tags. - Correctness and security fixes from a code review: multi-package apps
are tracked and removed as a whole, installs of one app never overlap
with the background job, rpm is never handed an option-like name,
downloads are size-limited, and redirects to other hosts drop
credentials. - Faster: one rpm call at start, and rpm no longer blocks the UI when an
app changes. - Release packages for SailfishOS 5.0 (sfos5.0) and 5.1 or later
(sfos5.1), for aarch64, armv7hl and i486.
