v17.9.4
A bug-fix release with two new approval options. If you translate culture-variant pages
with nested blocks, we recommend upgrading. If you run a custom connector that approves
translations itself, read the note about failed saves below before you upgrade.
- Fix: a block containing a nested Block List that varies by language (or a rich text
editor with blocks that varies by language), on a culture-variant page, wasn't fully
translated. The items inside the nested list weren't sent for translation, and in
17.9.x they were also hidden in the translated language, so they didn't show on the
page. They're now translated and shown like the rest of the block - Fix: on a site upgraded from an older version, a property could be sent to
translation twice, for example as two identical segments in an XLIFF file. Affected
items correct themselves the next time they're updated
(#87) - Fix: dates in the backoffice, such as in a job's list of items, were shown in UTC
rather than your own time zone (an hour behind during British Summer Time, for
example). They now show local time - Fix: with background approval switched on, approving with "Approve in Background"
ticked left the approval dialog blank. It now shows the progress and the results. The
approval itself always worked - Add: a "Save only (do not publish)" option under "Automatic approval" in a translation
set's processing options. With it on, automatically approved translations are saved
as drafts rather than published, so someone can check them before they go live - Add: a
Translation:ContinueOnApprovalErrorsetting (in appsettings, off by default).
With it on, approving a job skips any item that fails to save or publish, notes the
reason in the job history, and carries on with the rest. The approval results then
list the skipped items, so only those need approving again
(#81) - Change: a save or publish that fails quietly - cancelled by a notification handler,
the target's parent not being published in that language, or invalid content - now
counts as a failed approval. Before, the item was marked Approved even though nothing
was published. With the setting above off, the approval stops and gives the reason.
Custom connectors that approve translations themselves now get an error in this
case, where it used to pass silently - Change: the job-level "approved" and "published" events and history entries now
happen once every item in the job is approved, not for each page of a paged approval - Build: updates the shared Jumoo.Processing library to 17.4.2. If you also have
uSync.Complete installed, it may need updating to its latest v17 release too
