P1S-GCODE documentation

P1S-GCODE is a collection of optimized machine start and end G-code profiles for the Bambu Lab P1S. Each profile changes how the printer prepares for a job and how it completes the job afterward.

In practical terms, the profiles control homing, heating, filament preparation, nozzle purging and wiping, adaptive bed probing, front-of-bed priming, filament unloading, cooldown, and parking. The model itself is still generated normally by the slicer.

The project provides four start profiles and three end profiles:

  • S prioritizes the shortest sequence.
  • L-Lite reduces startup purge while retaining the L-family probing behavior.
  • L provides the balanced everyday sequence.
  • XL provides the most extensive preparation and cleanup.

For most users, L-START with L-END is the recommended starting point.

Profile overview

Start profiles

Profile Preparation style Front priming Recommended use
S Minimal purge and wiping Stationary prime Shortest startup
L-Lite Reduced purge and moderate wiping Short purge segment Reduced material use
L Moderate purge and wiping Full purge line Balanced everyday printing
XL Extended purge, wiping, and temperature staging Full staged purge line Most extensive preparation

End profiles

Profile Cleanup style Final ventilation Recommended use
S Short purge and minimal wiping 10 seconds Shortest shutdown
L Retraction and moderate wiping 30 seconds Balanced everyday cleanup
XL Extended purge and wiping 60 seconds Most extensive cleanup

The intended pairings are:

Start End
S-START S-END
L-START-LITE L-END
L-START L-END
XL-START XL-END

Explore the process

The documentation follows the complete machine sequence from the first initialization command to the final parked state.

  • How P1S-GCODE Works explains the sequence in practical and technical terms.
  • Compatibility identifies the current project platform and software scope.
  • Safety covers normal use and optional script editing.
  • Limitations explains how to interpret runtime, purge, and probing behavior.

Documentation scope

These pages describe the current P1S-GCODE project as a whole: how to install it, how the profile families differ, how the start and end sequences are organized, and how to interpret their behavior.

The detailed pages link directly to the relevant G-code files so that technical descriptions can be checked against the implementation.
