C# Tutorial: Building a Text-Based Game

1. Introduction to C#

Install .NET SDK If you haven't installed the .NET SDK yet, download it from here.

Create a New Console Project

  • Open a terminal or command prompt.

  • Navigate to the directory where you want to create your project.

  • Run the following command to create a new console application:

dotnet new console -n TextBasedGame
  • This command will create a new folder named TextBasedGame with the necessary files for a .NET console project.

Navigate to the Project Folder

cd TextBasedGame

Add the Game Code

Open the Program.cs file in a text editor or IDE. Replace the existing code with the full game code provided earlier.

Run the Project

After adding the code, you can run the project using the following command:

dotnet run

This will compile and execute your text-based game.
