KITPro Linux Server 1.0

KITPro Linux Server 1.0 is an Arch Linux-derived, x86_64 server distribution with controlled package promotion, a guided whole-disk installer, manual previous-kernel fallback, an offline rescue environment, and local sanitized support bundles.

The final 1.0 release uses the exact, previously qualified RC3 media. The rc3 filename is retained because the signed artifact bytes were not rebuilt, modified, or re-signed for publication.

Installation requirements

  • x86_64 processor
  • UEFI firmware with Secure Boot disabled
  • 2 GiB RAM minimum; 4 GiB or more recommended
  • 16 GiB target disk minimum; 32 GiB or larger SSD/NVMe recommended
  • 4 GiB or larger installer USB drive
  • Supported network adapter; wired Ethernet is the qualified installation path

The guided installer replaces the selected disk with GPT, an EFI System Partition, and an ext4 root filesystem. Back up required data and verify the selected disk before entering the exact ERASE confirmation.

Repository, fallback, rescue, and support bundles

The installed system uses the signed KITPro 1.0 production repository and immutable production generation 1.0-g0002. The qualified release contains 199 packages, including 36 explicitly selected packages, and kernel 6.18.55-1.

Previous-kernel fallback is selected manually from the boot menu. A fresh installation has no previous kernel; a previous-known-good fallback becomes available only after a genuine kernel transition retains one.

The offline rescue environment mounts the root filesystem and EFI System Partition read-only by default. Repair requires a separate explicit action. Support bundles are created locally, apply sanitization controls, and are never uploaded automatically; inspect a bundle before sharing it.

Qualification

The release passed reproducible media builds, static and SPDX validation, virtual installation testing at 2 GiB RAM, production update and fallback testing, offline signature verification, rescue verification, support-bundle locale regression validation, physical lifecycle qualification, and a 14-day physical burn-in. The burn-in completed all required warm reboots and cold cycles with zero defects. Physical qualification does not imply universal hardware certification.
