Follow these steps to install and configure the bot.

Step 1: Install Dependencies

First, clone the repository to your local machine. Then, in the root directory, install the required dependencies by running:

Command: npm i

or

Command: npm install

Step 2: Set Up a Discord Bot

  1. Create a Discord Bot:

    • Go to the Discord Developer Portal and create a new application.
    • Navigate to the Bot section and add a bot to your application.
  2. Invite the Bot and Grant Permissions:

    • Invite the bot to your server using an OAuth2 link with the following permissions enabled:
      • Create channels
      • Move users
      • Disconnect users
      • Edit channels
    • Alternatively: You can grant the bot administrator privileges, though this is not recommended.
    • Note: This list may not be exhaustive; you may need to adjust permissions based on your needs.

Step 3: Configure the Bot

In the project’s configuration file, add your Discord token and the following required information:

  • guildID: This is the ID of your Discord server. You can find it by enabling Developer Mode in Discord settings, right-clicking your server name, and selecting "Copy ID."
  • clientID: This is the client ID of your bot, found in the Discord Developer Portal under OAuth2 > General.
  • voiceJoinChannel: Specify the ID of the voice channel where users join.
  • voiceJoinCategory: Specify the ID of the category where the bot will create channels.

Step 4: Start the Bot

Now, you’re ready to start the bot. Run:

Command: npm run start

The bot should now be active and connected to your Discord server!
