OpenCodex 0.1.43
What's new
- Export a thread. Use the thread menu (the … in the thread header, or right-click a thread in the sidebar) and pick Export as Markdown or Export as JSON. Typing
/exportdownloads Markdown, and/export jsondownloads the raw data. The Markdown has your messages, the assistant's replies, shell runs, and each tool call as a collapsed section.

What's new
- Use OpenCodex from your phone or another computer. Settings → Remote access serves OpenCodex through your own Cloudflare named tunnel and hostname. Paste a tunnel token and OpenCodex runs
cloudflaredfor you, or point your owncloudflaredat it. Each device pairs once by scanning a single-use QR code that expires after five minutes. You can see and revoke paired devices in Settings, and a revoked device is cut off right away. Remote access runs only while OpenCodex is open. - Better on phone-sized screens. The composer puts the model and thinking pickers on their own row, the workspace rail stays hidden until you open a panel, and thread headers give the title more room. You can also add OpenCodex to your home screen.

What's new
- Compaction works again with Claude Code. OpenCode now requires compaction summaries to follow its template. Claude's native
/compactnow receives OpenCode's summary instructions, so its summary passes that check, without Claude's preamble or its instructions to resume.

What's new
- Smoother motion. Segmented controls slide their highlight between options like a drop of liquid. Menus, popovers, tooltips and dialogs fade and scale in, buttons press, and chevrons rotate. All motion respects the system's reduced-motion setting.
- Better diffs. In the Changes panel, a toggle switches between uncommitted changes and changes against the base branch. You can expand collapsed unchanged lines to see more of the file around a change.
- Fuzzy folder completion when opening a project. While you type a path, matching folders appear in a list. Tab completes the highlighted folder, and Escape closes the list.
- Cleaner canvas callouts. Callout text stays at the top, and the colors are calmer.

What's new
- @ mentions in the composer. Type
@to tag a skill, a project file, or a recent chat from any project. Tagged items show as pills in the composer and in sent messages.- Mentioned files and skills are attached to the message through OpenCode's own mentions.
- A mentioned chat is attached as a transcript of its recent conversation, so the agent can pick up its context.
- Undo restores mentions with the rest of the message.
- Annotations render like Codex. Review comments on chat responses, pages, and code show on the sent message as one chip, such as "1 annotation, 2 comments". The chip opens a numbered list of each selection and comment. Your own text stays in the bubble. The agent sees them numbered ("Annotation 1", "Comment 1"), so it can refer to them by number.
- Clearer send errors. When OpenCode rejects a message, for example over a missing skill or an unreadable file, the composer shows OpenCode's reason.

New threads start as drafts
- Nothing is created until you send. New thread (Cmd+N, the sidebar button, a project's +, or
/new) opens an empty composer for the project. The OpenCode thread is created only when you send your first message, so empty "New chat" threads no longer pile up in the sidebar. - Set everything up first. Before sending, you can pick the model, turn on full access, choose Local or New worktree, add attachments, or pick a starter. All of it carries into the thread when it's created.
- Safe retries. If sending fails after the thread was created, your draft stays and retrying reuses that thread instead of making another empty one.
- Commands that need an existing thread (
/fork,/undo,/rename, …) are hidden in the new-thread composer.

Apps: settings and a tidier header
- Settings tab. Each app has a Settings tab showing how it's set up: icon, name, project, the chat that made it, its folder, its model and where that comes from, and every function with its schedule, last run, and next run. Scheduled functions can be run from there.
- Simpler header. The header shows a status line like "Ran 1 hr ago · daily · split-pro · Claude Opus 5.5", with Open chat, a Run button (a menu when there are several scheduled functions), and a ⋯ menu with icons for Change model, Change icon, and Delete app.
- The model picker moved into an App model dialog, opened from the model name or the ⋯ menu.

Canvas comments
- Comment on a canvas. In the side panel, the comment button on a canvas opens the same markup tools as the browser panel: select elements, mark a region, or draw, then describe the change. The comment goes to the chat with the marked elements and the canvas folder, so the agent knows what to edit.
- On desktop, a screenshot of the marked area is attached too.

Apps: choose the icon
- Pick an app's icon. Click the icon in an app's header to choose from 224 symbols in 14 groups, with search, and any of the project colors.
- Agents creating an app can use the same symbols.
