Description

Scans C:\ProgramData\DassaultSystemes\CATEnv\ for all installed CATIA V5 environment files and applies two optional changes to each selected version:

1. Settings path — updates CATUserSettingPath in the environment file to point to a version-specific folder (e.g. CATSettingsR32). This prevents different CATIA versions from sharing and overwriting each other's settings.

2. Window title — updates ApplicationFrame.Title in the version's CATIA.CATNls resource file so the title bar shows the release number (e.g. CATIA V5 R32).

Both changes use a {version} placeholder (e.g. R32) that is substituted automatically for each detected version.

Usage

1. Run the script
2. A dialog lists all detected CATIA versions — check the ones to update
3. Set the Settings folder suffix format (default {version} → e.g. CATSettingsR32)
4. Set the Window title format (default CATIA V5 {version} → e.g. CATIA V5 R32)
5. Tick which changes to apply (settings path, window title, or both)
6. Click Apply — a results dialog shows what was updated or skipped

Notes

• Settings reset on first launch — the first time CATIA opens after the settings path is changed, it will create a new settings folder and reset all preferences to defaults for that version. This is expected; your settings will be preserved from that point forward.
• The script handles the case where the path has already been modified — it will update to the new value without duplicating the suffix.
• If CATIA.CATNls is not found for a version (e.g. a non-standard install path), that version's title change is skipped and reported in the results.
• Run as Administrator if you receive a "Permission denied" error for the window title update.
