@Kami-fr Kami-fr released this 23 Oct 00:05
  • ➕ The + button now shows what it can add: an expense, a shop refund, paying someone back, or writing down a debt. Tap it twice to add an expense quickly.
  • 🔍 Search and 📊 statistics are now buttons at the top of the page.
  • 📅 Expenses are grouped by month, with what each month cost.
  • 👆 In the statistics, tap a category to see its expenses.
  • 🏷️ "Shop refund" is now spelled out, so it can't be mistaken for paying someone back.
  • 🔄 Restart Home Assistant after updating. Your data is not changed.

@Kami-fr Kami-fr released this 22 Oct 22:35
  • 📅 Statistics by the month: the page opens on the last month you spent in, and you can step month by month, year by year, or see everything.
  • 📈 Each month says how it compares with the one before, with the last 12 months as bars and the average across them.
  • 🧾 Your summary: what really left your pocket over the month, shop refunds and reimbursements included, against your share — and how much your balance moved.
  • 🤝 "Who paid what" now shows what each person paid against their share, instead of a debt that ignored reimbursements — what is still owed stays on the group page.
  • 🔄 Restart Home Assistant after updating. Your data is not changed.

The README's pictures now show in HACS. They were addressed relative to the
repository, which GitHub understands and Home Assistant cannot: HACS showed
the badges and nothing else. They point at GitHub directly now.

The expense dialog's examples speak the reader's language. The title and
amount placeholders were French for everybody ("Courses Carrefour", "85,42"),
as were the shared amount's and the exchange rate's; the titles are now
translated in all eight languages, and the figures use the reader's own
decimal separator.

The schema is unchanged at v16.

The dashboard card no longer turns red after a Home Assistant update. Two
smaller changes come with it.

Fixed

  • After an update or a restart of Home Assistant, the card showed "Custom
element doesn't exist" until somebody opened the panel. A browser left on a
dashboard reloads the moment Home Assistant answers, before custom
integrations have loaded. The card's code is now copied into your
configuration's www/ folder and declared as a dashboard resource, both of
which Home Assistant reads from the very start. While the integration is
still loading, the card says so and recovers by itself.
  • A split rule kept as a default on a category or a group is checked when it
is saved, and refused there if it cannot work: a remainder nobody takes, a
share and an amount on the same member, shares over the whole, a member the
group does not hold or who has left. It used to be accepted and fail on the
    first expense entered with it.

Changed

  • A member added with a Home Assistant account wears that account's photo
from the start, instead of coloured initials until somebody switches it on.
A member without an account keeps the initials, and the member dialog still
switches either way. Existing members are left as they are.

Upgrading

  • No schema change: the database stays at v16, as in 1.1.0.
  • If your configuration has never had a www/ folder, the integration
creates it on the first start and can only be served from it after the
next one: restart Home Assistant a second time. The log says so.
  • Dashboards in YAML mode do not read stored resources. The log gives the
URL to add to their resources as a module.
  • A default rule saved before this version that cannot work is not touched,
and the panel keeps asking on each expense as before. The next time the
category or group is saved, the rule has to be completed first.

Shared Expenses is now in the HACS default store: search for it in HACS, no
custom repository needed.

@Kami-fr Kami-fr released this 02 Aug 23:29

Everything that had been waiting since the first release, and eighty-two bug
fixes from reading the whole codebase end to end.

New

  • Shop refunds: record money a shop gave back, split exactly as the purchase was.
A refund and its purchase open each other, and the dialog now asks which way
the money goes instead of expecting you to know about the minus sign.
  • A payment can name the expense it settles, and a refund the purchase it answers.
  • Dashboard: add-expense cards, tiles and badges, each with a preview in the
picker; a balance card that opens straight onto its group; and the last group
you looked at remembered on the server, so every device agrees.
  • Members can wear their Home Assistant photo, and every row of the list carries
a face and a mark saying what it is.
  • Statistics get a period picker, and every category a colour of its own.
  • Every change is announced on the Home Assistant event bus, so automations can
react to an expense being added.
  • Errors say why: eleven of them, plus the split and exchange-rate services, now
carry a reason instead of a bare code.

Fixed

  • Three ways of writing into a group you are not a member of. If your Home
Assistant is shared with people who are not in every group, this is the reason
    to update.
  • Money: a converted amount of zero read back as the foreign amount, and
percentage shares whose odd cent landed on a different person in the panel than
    in the backend.
  • Migrations are atomic. An upgrade interrupted halfway — a full disk, a
container stopped — no longer leaves a database that no restart can get past.
  • Dozens of smaller ones across the panel: controls showing a value the model did
not hold, dialogs discarding a split you had just typed, statistics rendering
"Infinity%", a journal entry that vanished when a restore was refused.

Upgrading
The database schema moves from v12 to v16. It migrates in place on the first
load, with no action needed and nothing to re-enter. Note that this is a one-way
door: once migrated, the same database will be refused by 1.0.0, which declines a
database newer than the code rather than risk misreading it. Take a backup first
if you want the option of going back.

the queue.
