aterkeep v1.0.0
Keeps a free Aternos Minecraft server online around the clock: a single binary
that queues, confirms the queue when your turn comes, starts the server,
keeps it from idling out, and gives you a password-protected web panel in 14
languages.
The queue confirmation is the part that matters. Aternos opens a ~30 second
window when your turn arrives; miss it and you go to the back of the line. That
is why unattended keep-alive scripts sit in the queue forever. aterkeep watches
for it and confirms on its own.
Install
| Platform | Download |
|---|---|
| Windows | aterkeep-windows.exe |
| Linux (x86-64) | aterkeep-linux-amd64 |
| macOS (Apple Silicon) | aterkeep-macos-arm64 |
| Android | build in Termux — see docs/TERMUX.md |
Also grab aterkeep-extras.zip if you want the anti-idle bot or autostart:
it holds bot/, the installer scripts and the docs. Unpack it next to the
binary.
Run the binary, open http://127.0.0.1:4041, and follow the setup wizard: pick
a language, set a panel password, paste your Aternos cookie: header. No server
ID needed — it is read from the cookies.
What's in it
- Automatic queue confirmation, level-triggered with a throttle, and polling
that tightens as your position approaches - Anti-idle bot (mineflayer) the daemon starts when the server comes up and
stops when it goes down; needs Node.js - Session encryption with AES-256-GCM, the key derived from your panel
password via PBKDF2 (600k iterations, per-install salts). The key is never
written to disk, so a copiedconfig/folder is worthless without the
password - Panel login, random token in an
HttpOnly; SameSite=Strictcookie - 14 languages, chosen during setup and switchable live; Arabic renders
right-to-left - Live status over the Hermes WebSocket: TPS, RAM, players, server console
- Autostart for Windows (DPAPI), systemd and Termux — see
docs/AUTOSTART.md - Pure HTTP. No browser, no Playwright, no headless Chromium
Notes
- Aternos cookies are short-lived. When they expire the panel says so and offers
a one-click refresh rather than pretending the server is offline. - The bot joins with an offline-mode username; if your server has
online-mode=truethe panel tells you which setting to change. - Requires
curlon PATH (present by default on Windows 10+, macOS and most
Linux distributions).
