MyKAI Node 0.5.8 — The newest node, and some improvements
MyKAI is a manager for your Kaspa node: it starts it, watches it, and tells you how it's doing. This release puts the newest Kaspa release underneath it, and includes some improvements.
What's new
The newest Kaspa node
Your node now runs Kaspa 2.1.0. The part you'll notice is the first sync: the big pieces of it used to arrive as one enormous message that could time out and start the whole transfer over. They now come through in chunks, so a slow or busy connection doesn't send you back to the beginning.
Mining recognises a miner that steps away
A miner that dropped off and reconnected used to come back as a stranger: a second entry on the card, shares counting up from zero, and the old one sitting there forever. It's now recognised as the same miner. It keeps its place, and its shares keep adding up.
Two more from the same corner: starting mining no longer freezes the app for about a second, and turning mining off now actually stops it.
One less interruption after updating
Every app update was quietly removing the firewall rule that lets miners on your network reach you. The app spotted this and put the rule back — but doing that needs Windows' permission, so a prompt appeared seconds after an update you didn't ask to be part of. Say no, and it asked again at every launch.
Updates now leave the rule where it is. Nothing to put back, and nothing to ask you about.
MyKAI AI Assistant
If you run the Kaspa AI Assistant, it checks in with your node about twice a minute so the app knows it's still there. The line at the top of the screen also stopped flipping between two different versions of itself every few seconds.
Auto-update behavior
If you're on any 0.3.x, 0.4.x or 0.5.x version, MyKAI will detect this update on next launch and prompt you to restart. Your data, settings, account key and node identity are all preserved — and your synced chain data carries over, so there's no full re-sync.
