Audit finding

The current review is a technical legal-risk audit, not a privileged legal opinion, trademark clearance, patent opinion, GDPR assessment or medical-device classification decision. Several identified actions require professional judgment that should not be represented as completed solely through repository changes.

Target state

Before SightAdapt is described as production-ready, sold, licensed commercially, distributed through a major store or supplied with legal warranties, qualified counsel reviews the relevant product, release and project-governance materials and records a release decision.

Acceptance criteria

• Identify the legal entity or person responsible for publishing and supporting SightAdapt.
• Identify intended territories, distribution channels, revenue model and customer types.
• Provide counsel with the exact release artifact, SBOM, dependency notices, licenses, privacy notice, contributor policy and marketing materials.
• Confirm completion or accepted treatment of the .NET redistribution analysis.
• Confirm the trademark-clearance decision for the name and logo.
• Confirm the intended-purpose/MDR positioning.
• Confirm whether a patent freedom-to-operate opinion is required for the planned launch.
• Review the end-user warranty, liability, support and third-party notice language.
• Review privacy and support-data handling for the intended operating model.
• Record unresolved risks, accepted risks and mandatory pre-release conditions.
• Store privileged advice outside the public repository.
• Add a non-confidential sign-off record containing reviewer role, reviewed version, date, scope and final decision.
• Define changes that invalidate the sign-off and require a new review.

Release gate

Do not claim complete legal clearance, non-infringement or regulatory compliance until the applicable professional reviews have been completed.

No qualified-counsel review has been performed, and the repository does not claim complete legal clearance. Closing this issue as not planned for the current free/open-source alpha stage. Reopen it before any production-ready claim, paid distribution or licensing, major-store production release, enterprise warranty/indemnity, or complete legal/regulatory/non-infringement representation.
