Release Notes: GroupConfig Plugin

I am excited to announce the latest release of the GroupConfig Plugin for TShock! This plugin is designed to simplify the management and configuration of groups in Terraria, making it easier to handle group permissions, chat colors, prefixes, and suffixes.

What's New in This Release

Key Features

  • JSON Configuration: Load and configure groups seamlessly using a JSON file.
  • Customizable Chat Attributes: Set unique chat colors, prefixes, and suffixes for each group.
  • Permission Management: Easily manage group permissions with a user-friendly structure.

Installation Guide

  1. Download the latest release from the releases page.
  2. Place the GroupConfig.dll file into the ServerPlugins folder of your TShock installation.
  3. Restart your TShock server to enable the plugin.

Configuration Example

The plugin will generate a GroupConfig.json file on the first run. Customize this file to suit your server's needs. Here's a snippet:

{
  "Groups": {
    "admin": {
      "Parent": "newadmin",
      "Commands": "tshock.admin.ban,tshock.cfg.whitelist,tshock.npc.spawnboss,tshock.npc.spawnmob",
      "Chat Color": [255, 255, 255],
      "Prefix": null,
      "Suffix": null
    },
    "trustedadmin": {
      "Parent": "admin",
      "Commands": "tshock.cfg.*,tshock.world.*,tshock.item.spawn,tshock.heal",
      "Chat Color": [255, 255, 255],
      "Prefix": null,
      "Suffix": null
    }
  }
}

Usage Tips

  • Automatic Loading: The plugin loads groups from the configuration file when the server starts.
  • Reload On-the-Fly: Use the /reload command to apply changes without restarting the server.
