Scanthesis Installation Guide

Windows

1. Download scanthesis_setup_v1.0.0.exe from this release
2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
3. Launch from Start Menu or desktop shortcut (if selected)
4. And you're done!

Linux

Linux REQUIRED System Dependencies

Ensure that these dependencies are installed on your Linux machine.

On Ubuntu/Debian:

sudo apt-get install libayatana-appindicator3-dev keybinder-3.0

On Fedora/RHEL:

sudo dnf install libappindicator-gtk3 keybinder3

On Arch Linux:

sudo pacman -S libappindicator-gtk3 keybinder3

On openSUSE:

sudo zypper install libkeybinder-3_0-0 libayatana-appindicator3-1

Linux Installation Options:

Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo dpkg -i scanthesis_1.0.0_amd64.deb

Fedora/RHEL:

sudo rpm -i scanthesis-1.0.0-1.fc42.x86_64.rpm

Arch Linux:

sudo pacman -U scanthesis-1.0.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

AppImage (Universal):

chmod +x scanthesis_1.0.0-x86_64.AppImage
./scanthesis_1.0.0-x86_64.AppImage

Installation (Generic tar.zst)

1. Extract the tarball:

tar -I zstd -xvf scanthesis-1.0.0-linux-x86_64.tar.zst
cd scanthesis-1.0.0

2. Copy to system (requires root):

sudo cp -r opt/scanthesis /opt/
sudo cp -r usr/* /usr/

3. Launch the app:

scanthesis

Uninstallation (Generic tar.zst)

To remove the app:

sudo rm -rf /opt/scanthesis
sudo rm -f /usr/bin/scanthesis
sudo rm -f /usr/share/applications/scanthesis.desktop
sudo rm -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor/256x256/apps/scanthesis.png
