PolyField Track 4.3.0
A big update to the Layout Builder, new field-event displays powered by PolyField Server, and a set of reliability fixes for start lists.
Highlights
- Redesigned Layout Builder — templates, drag-and-drop, undo, snapping guides, and assigning screens without leaving the builder.
- New field-event widgets — Throws (a live landing map in the sector), Vertical Jumps (high jump / pole vault) and Jump Ruler (long / triple jump), driven live by PolyField Server.
- Displays that follow the day's programme — point a widget at a set of events and it shows whichever one is in progress, moving on by itself.
- Start lists update reliably — changes made in FinishLynx now replace the list on screen straight away.
- Save diagnostics to Google Drive — one click to upload the logs bundle and get a shareable link.
Layout Builder
- Start from a template: Results board, Start list + clock, Big clock, High jump / pole vault, Long / triple jump ruler, Throws sector, or Team sport scoreboard.
- Drag widgets onto the canvas from the list (or click to add — new widgets now find free space instead of stacking on top of each other).
- Undo and redo (⌘/Ctrl+Z), plus keyboard shortcuts for moving, resizing, duplicating, copying and pasting — press ? in the builder for the full list.
- Right-click a widget for duplicate, copy/paste, layer order, lock, hide and delete.
- Copy widgets between layouts, and duplicate whole layouts.
- Finer positioning: snap to ½ or ¼ of a grid cell, with alignment guides that line widgets up with each other. The selected widget's size and position are shown in real pixels.
- Show on screens straight from the builder — tick the screens (and scoreboard) a layout should appear on.
- Safer deletes: deleting a layout warns you which screens are using it, and can be undone. Importing a file asks whether to add to or replace your layouts.
- New workspace: the widget list, widget settings and canvas settings are separate side panels that fold away with one click (or
[\]) to give the canvas more room. Selecting a widget opens its settings automatically. - Layers list with hide-in-editor and lock, so full-screen overlays no longer get in the way while you work.
- Better preview: switch between sample data and live meet data, turn overlays on and off, and see the layout at the screen's true resolution.
- Simpler widget list: Event Name, Wind and Clock are now one widget each, with a Show: current / last result (or running / stopped) switch. Search the list to find a widget fast.
- Every widget now shows a realistic sample on the canvas instead of a placeholder.
- Fully keyboard and screen-reader accessible, with improved contrast throughout.
Field events (PolyField Server)
- Throws — a shot / discus / hammer / javelin board that plots every landing in the sector (the right angle for each event, with distance arcs). It shows the current athlete's throws so far, numbered by round, everyone else's landings as a heat map, and the competition best as a gold star. The latest throw drops in as it's measured; if it takes the lead, a NEW BEST banner wipes across the screen first. Alongside: athlete, club, round, performance, current position and best — each piece of text positioned freely. The sector sits in a box you size and place, so it never runs into the text, and every layer and size can be adjusted for small, low-resolution LED panels.
- Vertical Jumps — a high jump / pole vault board in two styles: Advanced (a live board with the current bar, attempts and an animated bar reveal at each new height) and Simplified (a drag-and-drop card of the latest attempt). Shows the event name and a sponsor logo between heights.
- Jump Ruler — a long / triple jump board with a ruler anchored to the pit, the current athlete's mark, the top three and the average, configurable board positions and run direction.
- Recent Results — the latest field-event performances as they come in.
- Auto-follow events: tag a field widget to a set of events and it displays whichever is in progress, then moves to the next — set a display up once for a whole day.
- PolyField Server widgets are grouped together in the builder.
The field-event widgets and auto-follow need the latest PolyField Server (v1.11.0 or higher)
Displays
- LED block canvas: build non-rectangular LED walls (L, U and T shapes) from panels, and lay widgets out around the unlit areas.
Fixes and reliability
- Start lists: reloading a start list after editing it in FinishLynx now replaces the old one on every display (previously stale athletes could remain), and live data is never served from a cache.
Other
- Google Drive export: connect your Google account once (Settings → Send Diagnostic) to save the diagnostic / logs bundle to a PolyField Track Exports folder and get a shareable link. The app can only see files it creates.
- Portuguese translation added (now English, French, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese).
- New app icon with orange rings, so PolyField Track is easy to tell apart from PolyField Server.
Downloads
-
PolyField-Track-4.3.0.app.zip — macOS (Apple silicon and Intel)
-
PolyField-Track-4.3.0.exe — Windows
-
LSS-scripts.zip — the FinishLynx scoreboard scripts:
polyfield.lss— the main script: clock, wind, start lists and results.polyfield-backup.lss— optional second output that re-sends the start list, so a dropped network packet can't leave a display blank.polyfield-wind.lss— optional second output for wind (Raw mode).
All three point at the PolyField Track machine on UDP port 5001. The scripts are unchanged from 4.2.3, so existing FinishLynx setups don't need updating.
Upgrading
Existing layouts open unchanged. Settings and screen assignments carry over.
