Hi, I'm Kerem. I recently graduated with a major in Game Design, and I'm currently studying Computer Programming.
I believe games are the perfect mediumβmuch more immersive than any other, with gorgeous visuals and interactivity. I love their painstaking creation process, especially finding solutions to implement mechanics or systems and building upon them.
I aim to leave my mark on projects I'll be proud of and want to play.
- Programming Languages: C#, Lua, Python
- Game Engines: Unity, Unreal Engine
- Tools and Technologies: Git, Unity, Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Premiere Pro
- Other Skills: Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), VR Development.
Professional Projects
- Description: First released project I partook in as an intern at Bucked Games. Helped in various roles, mainly QA and playtesting. Later aided with SFX design and music.
- What I Learned: Focused on optimazation skills for mobile, learned and worked with different design patterns to aid in development.
- SFX & Music: Ozmo_SFX
- Website Link: Ozmo's Adventure Land Website
- Playstore Link: Ozmo's Adventure Land Google Playstore
- What I Learned: Worked on a dynamic SFX & Music & Ambiance system with resource loading and reduced RAM Allocations and visibly improved performance, along with many other things.
- SFX & Music: Mayanimo_SFX
- Website Link: Mayanimo Website
- Appstore Link: Mayanimo Appstore Link
- Description: Designed core game loop and worked on the touch controls. Another project I worked on as an intern at Bucked Games.
- Appstore Link: Current Chase Appstore Link
Upcoming Projects
- Description: A bootcamp project focusing on a weighted randomized and expandable upgrade system, initially created in under 2 weeks.
- What I Learned: Used event systems for highly decoupled code and used many different design patterns. Created an easily extensible, weighted dynamic Upgrade system.
- Video: Watch the video
- Repo: Strange Presence Repo
- Description: We're hard at work on a project putting all we've learned to the test. Stay tuned for more!
School Projects
- Description: A solo endless runner project completed in under a month using UE4 visual scripting. I also created the music for the game.
- What I Learned: Learned about class interactions and OOP basics.
- Gameplay Video:
- Itch.io Link: Highway Run
- Description: A group project focusing on traversal with glide/flight mechanics. I managed the movement logic using a state machine design pattern.
- What I Learned: I learned about and used the state machine pattern for the first time in the movement script to handle transition to between movement states such as ground movement, falling movement, gliding etc.
- Scripts: OOP Work and Movement Logic
- Video:
- Description: Developed during a game jam to raise earthquake awareness. I worked on the modular level system, breakable objects, and audio.
- What I Learned: Used psuedorandom numbers and perlin noise to create a realistic earthquake simulation.
- Itch.io Link: Hazard Hunt
- Description: A VR experience simulating a post-apocalyptic scenario. I worked on movement mechanics, controls, and a quest system utilizing ScriptableObjects.
- What I Learned: Utilized many different unity components I hadn't before like joints. Prepared vr controls for a crane, including vehicle movement.
